Sigh...If Devs would use Cross-platform tools to begin with they wouldn't have to complain about porting. They should know DirectX is a limited API, locked down to a closed platform.
Goodness forbid they used something like Unity where exporting is a snap, that would be down right shameful if they put a stretch goal for Linux on something like that. That would be undeserving of support or the breath wasted to mention them.
What's really shameful is Blizzard, they sit on a native WoW client for Linux by their own admission. I wouldn't see any problem releasing that with agreement to users that it's unsupported. But noooo they want to be a-holes. And what happened to their Linux game for 2013, still no word about that.
Ugh...I get so irritated at things like this.

Precinct could have been another Biggie, except so far they postponed the Linux port to $200k extra!
Some current backers are trying to explain why that's not a great idea, so we'll see.

They are saying that with Duke3D Megaton Edition as well and that involves the same publisher (Devolver Digital), developer(General Arcade) and IP owner(3D Realms, well they own everything Duke prior to DNF. DNF and post-DNF games belong to Gearbox).
Edit:
I should also note that Devolver Digital have shown themselves to be one of the the most Linux friendly publishers on the planet.

I read bit on deeper explanation of this game. This game probably drops in category where visualization & sound experience is primary game goals (reminds a bit Proteus). Probably best played such game is on Oculus Rift.

Hi JaminEatWorld
Quick question, on Windows the minimum requirement for the game is DirectX 11. What is the minimum OpenGL requirement to run the game on Linux?
By gabsd84, 15 July 2013 at 11:59 am UTC
Quoting: JaminEatWorldHi Orkultus -- you will do, yes. We had a finite number of codes for this closed beta which we've run out of now, but we're trying to get more, so if you can send me your email address, I'll do my best to get you on.
Thanks!

I played one of the first releases of Achron and it was unpleasant. All the units looked very dark and too similar, and their movement was just a big traffic jam.
A few versions before, I tried the game again and the biggest problems had been fixed. The gameplay was improved to acceptable.
If it has been improved a bit with every update, it may start looking like agood game. I should give it another try.

Interesting that they only support the x86_64 architecture at the moment -- though I much prefer this way round thanonly ever getting a x86 build because "it works like that on Windows".

Quoting: JaminEatWorldHullo - Jamin from Born Ready Games here.I bought this game on steam after hearing the beta for Linux was being uploaded. Do i have to send you a e-mail in order to get into the beta?
As Liam says, we're hoping the beta should go live today - so keep an eye on your inboxes. Most of you who sent us your emails should be on it; we increased the number of applicants who will be able to play the beta, and most people will be sent a code.
We'll have full details sent out alongside the Beta key, but any questions do let me know.

I first checked this out for the mini-review article thingy we did of 2x0ng'spublic beta. It's super cool. Takes a little bit to get into, those familiar with some of the games it pays homage to/draws upon will probably find it easier to appreciate, but regardless it's got a great vibe at its core and is good, addictive fun:D

At least FTL is also cheaper from the humble store for us euros as you get to pay the USD price. Steam gives us worse deals with the typical 1usd=1euro conversion.
