The date bit I can work on, I have been meaning to change it so once it's past 24 hours to give it a proper date as I don't like "yesterday" much.
I don't think we need any more separation, you have an image for each article, a bigger header and above it a line, personally I don't see why we need even bigger separation, is it that big an issue to differentiate between articles? If it is then I can look at doing something else but speaking personally I don't see a problem, does any else?
The width is staying as it is, it auto adjusts for screen size and tables and mobiles I don't want to make it any bigger on the desktop as I think it fits quite nicely right now, unless others agree?

Quoting: titiI would like to see some improvements on the news:
- real date when something was posted, nut things like yesterday/friday/11 hours ago. Place this date prominent in front of the news.
- More obvious separators for each news ( a line?)
- use more of the width for each news. There already is much more space!

Introducing The Humble Bundle with Android 6!

This is yet another brilliant bundle... if you have Android. Most of these titles have been in the other bundles... but not for Android. Frozen Synapse is really a great CROSS platform multi-player. It is its debut on Android. Aquaria is another great Linux title if you are into platformers. Steath Bastard has been awarded several prizes. Broken Sword is a point-and-click that you should not pass. I do not know the other games intimately, but strongly recommend these if you have a large phone, or a tablet, and are tired of the same old Angry Birds and Zynga games that unfortunately sem to clutter the mobile gaming space.

Oh, you are right! I can't believe I forgot about Samorost 2, Machinarium, Botanicula and Sword & Sworcery (I think they're all unarguably point-and-click aventure games).
I'd probably place TRAUMA in whatever box Myst lives in, which gameplay-wise is fairly different from the first few mentioned.
The Telltale stuff hasn't been in a Humble Bundle though (only a Humble Weekly Sale to date), which I think is important to differentiate - Too many people have trouble telling Humble's different brands apart.
By Cheeseness, 19 June 2013 at 8:03 am UTC
Quoting: s_dOh yes, certainly. Well, at least, depending on your definition of the genre!
Recall the Amanita Designs titles, specifically Samorost 2, Machinarium, and Botanicula. These are probably the closest (though, the narrative in Botanicula is thin enough that some, including Speedster, would prefer to call it more of a puzzle game). Loosen your definition a little, and we can include TRAUMA, Sword & Sorcery and Stacking as well. Loosen your platform a little, and there is, of course, the Telltale Games bundle. Loosen both, and we might include The Room (though, it's more of a puzzle game linked by a loose plot than Botanicula!).

Quoting: s_dReally glad to see an adventure game featured again!I'm pretty excited about this too! Have there previously been any playable adventure titles featured in a Humble Bundle promotion (sort of feel like Broken Age shouldn't count yet)? I don't recall any.

Really glad to see an adventure game featured again! The fact that it's Broken Sword is even better... in fact, I believe this is Revolution Software's first Linux title. I wonder if they'll continue to sell the Linux version, or hide it away (as we've seen before). I'd like to see it on Desura, Humble Store, along with the usual Steam key!
That said... I supported their Kickstarter, and ended up with GOG credits for their games, and also bought the Android version of BS: DC when it was on sale for 25 cents :-)
It will still be fun to play the Director's Cut natively, though!

Also, I'm definitely with Munt, on this one... GhostControl is the top gem. Day-1 support, isometric retro-pixel tactical strategy... and a surprisingly jaunty reggae theme! It's exactly the kind of weird thing that is only created in the indie scene :)

I hope so. Steam has already made it into Debian SID but I couldn't run it successfully past the main menu, and even if I made it I don't like the service so far. Why do big companies mess it so much while little indies can do it right from the start? Nah, I'm complaining again, though big kudos to those indies, keep doing it!
I missed this sentence and I fully agree. Unity3D has probably ported more games to GNU/Linux than anything else, maybe the second best thing after the HIB. And they did it right unlike other big names. Steam is big and influencing but it hasn't done that much yet, IMHO.

Quoting: oddworldincOne HUGE factor in deciding to port to Linux is that Unity3D makes it very easy to port to lots of platforms.

I had no idea about the demo being done by only four people! You raise some good points, I hope Leadwerks won't fall into the same pits of doom. 100$ for the licence is very reasonable, so I hope that it's doable in the time frame they've set up.

No, you're totally correct. GarageGames has committed to bringing the editor to Linux, but they needed a little help (the company is in rough shape, but is staying in business). They ran an ill-fated IndieGoGo project to do exactly what Leadwerks is doing, but they needed $30K, and ran a fixed-funding campaign (Kickstarter-style). I pledged to their campaign to help out.
The campaign would have benefited from a number of tweaks... in addition to very light interactivity with the backers (by today's crowd-funding standards), they also didn't even brag about Torque's clients' products' until late in the campaign! For example, there's the demo video from BeamNG, creators of an awesome soft-body physics engine... aside from obvious YouTube compression artifacts, the graphics may not seem too amazing until you realize that BeamNG are only two programmers & two artists, and they're only doing enough graphics to show off their physics engine!
It's pretty obvious that a larger, better funded, indie team with environment & texture artists could pull off AAA-quality with Torque3D... but GarageGames didn't sell that crucial point, unfortunately. It's already hard enough to put up, essentially, a free software project crowd-funding campaign, but I feel like they shot themselves in the foot on this one. Also, their campaign suffered the "IndieGoGo effect" (i.e., ~25% of the potential crowd-funding audience of Kickstarter).
Basically, when it ended, they said this was still important to them, but that they couldn't fund the port full-time. You know what that means... it's nights & weekends (and poking in a fix, here and there, between other features & deadlines), from the couple of folks willing to do it on their own. I hope that others (like Leadwerks) succeed and show there is a market for game creation on Linux with tools similar to that which Unity Technology provides. If that happens, then GarageGames could partner with an investor, or similar, to bring their editor over.
Also, the Linux version of their engine needs some love, but it's supposedly quite capable in the hands of a good video game programmer, albeit somewhat inflexible. Don't quote me on that, as I haven't used it personally, and am relaying what other developers have stated.

Quoting: SabunI have to agree with Mirv on the importance of the Editor itself coming to Linux. I hope Leadwerks succeed.
By the way, whatever happened to Torque3d? Looks like they're interest in bringing their editor to the Linux platform was just fluff... which is depressing. Their Github shows last commit as being a month ago for Linux, unless I'm looking in the wrong place.
