Not meant as a dig at you Bumadar, but I do take a weary notice at how people's metric for AAA titles keeps getting pulled back as soon as Linux begins to approach it. There once was a time when people said all Linux needed was Valve's games in of themselves.

I can't say I've ever seen a title on the official store/client show a platform it didn't support. Can you show us those screenshots of yours?

This game definitely has a Linux port -- I would advise that you check here: http://steamdb.info/linux/ -- before you commit yourself on games that are not Valve titles.

I'm pretty sure if Dirt2 had a Linux port that would be more than no coverage of that.

I would be extremely cautious purchasing from Steam.  I did after they told me two games were linux compabible (Testament of Sherlock Holmes and Dirt2).  Immediately after I paid with PayPal I received a note that these were not compatable with Linux.  No ability to download or try what I purchased in any way.  I complained to Steam, as I have screenshots showing they said they were Linux compatible.  They stated again that they were not compatible, and changed their catalog, but refused to put my money back in PayPal.  Essentially, they admitted that their site was incorrect, but have decided to keep my money.  They will allow me to purchase another game, but why would I take something I don't want.  I paid good money, if it doesn't work at all, I expect my money back.

You can still run Portal 2 in Wine/PlayOnLinux/Crossover. No speed penalties.

It's an old game, but I've never played it. I do like the RTS category though and would probably buy this when it's out. Looks like Runesoft does quite a bit of porting to Linux, we should definitely applaud them.

We don't really bash him, Liam;  he never checks anything.  It's not to say Larabel doesn't get good scoops, because he certainly can do... but his tendency to sensationalize without proper fact-checking certainly bites him in the ass, on occasion.  All in good fun, yes?

What about Valve's offerings? That said, as I noted in my SteamLUG post, April was definitely pretty quiet month, and I think possibly the first since Steam for Linux's launch that we hadn't seen a single Valve title released. I still run Wine to play a bunch of games, and as I said before, people are getting prompted to participate in the survey whilst not running the native client.

I'm that note, I'm currently talking with someone from Valve about whether or not we can get more transparency so far as their methodology goes. Exactly. Runesoft appears to be seeing Linux as a more valuable market now, so they are putting more of the resources they already have into making their Linux selection better. While it would be nice to see newer games as well, I am just happy that Runesoft is now taking us more seriously, and giving us more of their already established catalogue that they have built up on other platforms.

I want to toplay play games in linux but i have problems problems with my hybrid graphics card .  Bumblebee doesn't help and the installation of the nvidia beta driver with optimus fails to install

When it was released doesn't mean anything, it's new to us and a highly rated game 4/5 stars on gog with 391 ratings, that's pretty good.

They may not have any contracts for newer titles, also porting a game that is already on Mac would probably be easier to port to Linux than starting on a new port. It's also probably more financially viable to port older titles first to expand their catalogue.

Not just that, they update their older titles to fix bugs like their other Linux ports on Desura.

It's 1997 game, it's 16 years old game, some of the readers weren't even in the project back then ;)
I'm not saying that all oldies are bad games, far from it - but why port an ancient title and try to sell it instead of porting newer titles.
