I'd like to know how many sold games that is but I guess not too many. Besides, he may have set his selling standards very high counting Windows and HB sales. I just care about developers who can backup their statements with real data that we can objectively evaluate, anything else might be just good or bad feelings comming out.

Quoting: liamdaweThis annoyed me more now since I found out, Braid has been a top 10 selling app in the Ubuntu Software Centre for 16 consecutive months now yet he still says this?

Somehow, he's supposedly thinking Humble Bundle sales aren't sales. Since they are, he should wonder instead why some developers don't sell so well on their own.

Some of us expect everything to be free as in freedom, not necessarily as in beer.

QuoteI really hope more developers take notice of all this. We do pay for games, we do not expect everything to be free so please just stop thinking that right now.

It's 1,99€ for me.

Quoting: muntdefemsPS: WTF!? It's 2.99€ for me. I thought Desura didn't have regional pricing and that they fairly converted the prices to all currencies (maybe just sometimes rounding it to the upper $/€/£)...
It's 1,99€ for me.
Quoting: IvancilloIs this game some sort of Bit-trip-runner?There's a demo, although I can't install it, and the first AlterEgo is available too for free.

We can buy the game (again) directly from Recoil games to get the DLC, right? I'd rather not pay again for the whole thing but I wouldn't mind further supporting this developer this way. I'd liked the game and it worked very well from the start. I haven't read anything negative neither.

Hey Jon,
The upstream MonoGame branch has pretty bad Linux/Mac support at the moment, you might have better luck with my branch:
http://github.com/flibitijibibo/MonoGame
Right now it's a few commits behind upstream, but this is the branch that will be shipping with my MonoGame ports.
If you have any questions, poke me on Twitter @flibitijibibo.

We are indeed using MonoGame. No funny business, the game runs natively. We are having a bit of trouble with screen resolution in Ubuntu though (haven't tried Mint), so if anyone is or knows a MonoGame expert we'd appreciate a bit of help with this issue.

Quoting: s_dPledged, but I'm curious about the Linux port (and Mac, for that matter). Earlier on, when the game was first posted, it clearly stated that it was C# game, and that portability was very uncertain (you know the usual verbiage... "Blah blah blah, blah... but if the funding goes exceptionally, smashingly, gobsmackingly fantastic, we'll consider other platforms. No promises, of course!".Ask and ye shall receive!
It's some distance from "Windows game on C#" to "Win/Lin/Mac! Everybody is welcome... iOS is coming too!". I wonder how this was accomplished... MonoGame? Jonathan porting his C# ElfTools framework natively somehow? Hopefully it's not an undisclosed winelib port for Linux and wineskin wrap for Mac
Some clarity from the dev would be welcome.

I tried it yesterday when adding DBB to the Crowdfunding Wiki. I must say it's quite fun and I also didn't experience any crash or bug. The only con I found was the slightly irritating voiceover. Not the voice per se, but its limited repertoire of expressions and its excessive usage.
Apart from that looks like it's gonna be a great game, and an interesting new take on the runner genre.

DBB is not bad, after trying it for myself I made a gameplay video of it running in Ubuntu 12.10:

I'm surprised that for an Alpha, it didn't crash at all. I do hope they provide a way to change graphics settings in the final release. The game only plays at fullscreen so far. Would be really awesome if they managed to integrate co-op in this. I can imagine laughing a lot while playing with my friends.

Killing Floor still has it's textures issue. It's been the same build for the past several months (v1046).
AMD users shouldn't see any texture issues, it's an Nvidia issue only. I'm using Nvidia now, when I was using a HD6850 there were no texture issues. First game where Nvidia has the problem, not AMD. 310.14 drivers.
I run the game at full settings, but I read somewhere that if you set the textures to low or medium then it works fine. Doesn't for me though.

And this is without DOTA2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Left 4 Dead 2 i.e. the Valve games that are not yet out for Linux and have considerably more players a day than any other Valve games. Once those hit, we should see another increase. I cannot wait! Go Linux!

That's not how it works. You're only counted for this if you're asked to participate in the survey. So unless they ran a Linux VM to get a tux and then accepted and took the survey in said VM... it shouldn't drop at all.

I hope they put in a Linux tab at that point, so we can see more detailed info.
