Is there are chance these games can be bought without Steam or do they sign exclusivity deals?

Sorry for the thread revival, but there is something I have noticed when it comes to the display bugs - letting the program login to the Desura server even with the garbled text seems to increase the chances of it displaying right the next time you launch it.

Quoting: "KIAaze, post: 7674, member: 16"I saw this game mentioned on a french "game review" show recently. The show makes it look boring and I have to admit it doesn't appeal to me as well, unless there are some gameplay elements I'm missing...
Anyway, for those who understand French, it's a funny video on various simulation games: http://www.joueurdugrenier.fr/joueur-du-grenier-les-simulations-pc/ :)

edit: This is probably how I would have fun with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=omgc8M2NESs ^^

inded the driving around is quite boring, but thats not all that the game offers.
u can manage ur company, hiring new drivers etc.
+ the game is highly modable, there are tons of mods out there to enrich your game experience.

Oceania a new MMORPG based on Unigine
By Xpander, 15 January 2013 at 3:06 pm UTC

Regnum Online ofc is boring. they are doing it all wrong, its utter PvE grind to level30 or something before u can go into RvR.
they should make some PvP content for early levels.
PvE is boring in MMORPGs if there is no good storyline.

Oceania a new MMORPG based on Unigine

I've been playing Regnum Online for several months, but I got bored ... same stupid fetch/kill quests, killing many of the same monsters to gain experience, same weapons that you can choose for each level, and only the PvP aspect is good ... but day way to it so so long (leveling up to lvl 40 take s a LOT of time without paying, only at later levels you can go to PvP).

On the other hand there is Heroes of Newerth which is very addictive and PvP only/mostly... but it's not MMORPG.

Quoting: "David Montgomery-Blake, post: 7672, member: 429"Hey there,
I must have missed the comment. Was it a private message on the IGG campaign? I'm definitely interested in talking to you about the campaign and any help that you can offer to us! I loved that your blog recognized porters for the Humble Bundle games.

Yeah, I sent it in a PM through IndieGoGo about three weeks ago. I've shot you a PM through the forums here. It'll be good to bounce some ideas around.

Thanks for the feedback - it's great to be able to lift the lid a little on some porters that many hadn't heard of before. It's easily been the most popular aspect of my most recent article :)

Quoting: "Cheeseness, post: 7375, member: 122"It sort of feels like this campaign is targeting the wrong audience. I shot them a few suggestions about how they might go about improving their campaign, but didn't hear anything back. it's a shame because the premise is great.

Quoting: "dimko, post: 7376"I am not exactly sure, why should we, gamers, support this?
OK, i understand that this will enable developers use Linux, POSSIBLY to create Linux game ports.(just cause i develop in Linux, doesn't mean my product will be used on Linux).
I get no game discounts or NOTHING. And I also risk my money.

In other words, I bet on a horse, and I don't even know what I will win, most likely I shall win another opportunity to bet on a horse. From gamer perspective it's a loose-loose situation.

BTW, I have typically paid several times more than average on Humble Bundle games(with one exception, but I was really broke that time, when I had to borrow money for food), I also supported a few Kick Starters. I don't want to be perceived as greedy man.

I don't think you're greedy at all. I can understand where you're coming from since you are more interested in playing games than developing them. That makes perfect sense to me. We work with developers everyday so that is our target. And if we can expand the breadth of environments that developers can target (or work natively on), we're hoping to see a greater influx of games to the Linux platform! If you're interested in playing Linux games, I would recommend finding some favorites in the GarageGames and Unity communities and requesting ports to Linux. The ability to export to Linux is relatively new in Unity 4, but some developers have already jumped on-board. The development and QA process loop is long with Unity since it runs on Windows/Mac and you either have to load it up in a VM, another machine, or dual-boot to test on Linux. Which is one of the reasons that our campaign targets native development.

As a gamer, though, go out and petition for your favorite games to be on Linux.

Don't Starve Beta (currently with NaCL for linux only)
By Xpander, 15 January 2013 at 12:01 am UTC

yeah its not really confirmed but they want to do that after release.

Will there be a Mac Steam version?
Yup! We'll release it on Steam for Mac eventually, we just want to simplify and focus our development efforts during the beta. One platform at a time (But you can play on Chrome right now! And, if you unlock the Chrome Early Beta-Access now, you'll get it on Steam as well once it launches! Just grab the Steam code from the menu of your Chrome game.)

Is it coming to [name your platform]?
We're interested in other platforms for Don’t Starve, but we want to best support our current players now on the PC and Chrome versions. One thing at a time!

It runs on my Arch with GTX 650, with a "slightly" inconvenient bug: it segfaults as soon as I try to open the Kingdom view.
Now to wait for a fix. Dang. I was so eager to play it again. :/
