My PC is strange, always have strange problems that none else have...
For example, I need to run Minecraft with "sudo" or else my keyboard won't respond ;)
And I have no sound in Java games....

Maybe when I upgrade to the next Ubuntu version things will be better.

The sound sound just worked for me with ALSA. Debian squeeze x64.

It's just me or the sound on Trine2 under Linux (Ubuntu 64-bit with ALSA) does not work ?
I've read that someone else also complained about it.

Otherwise it's a fantastic game with the so needed feature to save at will.

Kickstart all of the games!
By MaximB, 9 April 2012 at 6:22 am UTC

I remember "trying" to play the first Larry game many years ago.
With my poor English at the time (hey, I was 10) it was a real challenge on passing the "entrance exams of the game" (I guess Muhammad Ali isn't an Arabian Terrorist after all...).
But once I've finally got it....I had no clue as what to do.

All commands needed to be written/typed, and as I had no list of commands - I didn't know what could I command.
My friend came to the rescue and typed "give the flower to the girl" , nice I thought, now we gonna have some sex....but then the girl replied "thanks for the flower but you won't get it back".
And thats how it ended.

On the later games I could do more stuff as they introduced a menu of commands, but the last PS2 game wasn't that fun.
The sad thing about all of Larry's games is that he NEVER gets sex....ever (or am I wrong ?).

If it was an original Larry game, I would have pledged.
But as it's Larry 1 with new graphics, I don't think I'll manage to pass much as I suck at those old games that you need to write commands to make the character do anything.
Well...maybe just for the Linux version support...

BTW, This Nekro game looks so cool in concept - but I fear that unlike the other games, he might not reach his funding goal.
I've donated and posted the news about this game on LGN, maybe it will be better for you to make a new separate post about Nekro so people will be more aware of this project.
I really don't want to see it fail to raise the funds.

Thanks
Maxim.

It is a pity Nekro has so few backers. It looks like some of my favourite games and the Linux port has been confirmed. I will try to put some bucks there.

I am porting to Mac now, and I wish that OSX never existed, or at least that I had never promised to port Ensign over to it!

I love the game concept, so I didn't cancel my pledge. I did reduce it, though. I will only pledge so much for a game that may or may not run under wine. If they had actually committed to doing a native Linux version, I would have pledged MUCH more.

upcoming Tera and Diablo 3 and The Secret World.Maybe that could be regarded as an

alternative tourist. Some nice on-line store to share with you.

No Linux for Shadowrun Return :(
I cancel my pledge!

QuoteAs part of our review, we came to the conclusion that feature additions such as aLinux version, Multiplayer PvP, and Cooperative Play are beyond the scope of the project and would cause us to lose focus on the game you reacted to so positively (and the game we really want to make).

QuoteTo everyone asking about a Mac version of the game, we've been saying that if we hit the $425,000 level, we'd add it. Linux support is definitely on the table too! (After all, who'd be a better Decker?)

Sure sounds good!

Well, Bionite looks interesting. BZ was one of the frist games to get me to like RTS in games at all. Let call out Linux support, but one of their videos on kickstarter starts with a UDK logo. Does UDK support Linux?

Whize pointed out Leisure Suit Larry is using Unity. Are these companies just going to use Kickstarter to become another Primal Carnage?

Exactly, that's why it's doubly important to let them know how appreciated it is (in-house porting shows a greater level of commitment and is more likely to lead to simultaneous releases).

So glad to have a native port of this.
I wrote a review of Trine 2 last year if anybody needs extra convincing :D

Quoting: "Bumadar, post: 3925, member: 93"i am unsure what to do, love trine and trine 2 on my ps3 but also want to support them on their linux support.......

Buy it for Linux? I can't imagine it being fun at all with a game pad...
If you can't bring yourself to buy it again (this game is worth more than $30 IMO), you could send the Frozenbyte guys some fan mail to make sure they know how much you appreciate Linux support :D
