So, my first attempt at playing the game didn't go so well, because the Linux client glitched on me, and I couldn't close the shop menu. And then my whole team was complaining about me and tried to votekick me, because I couldn't cast spells with the shop menu open. I encountered some other problems too, like the mouse cursor would occasionally spaz out and look weird. Also, once when I had quit the game and started it back up, it crashed my computer. The Linux client definitely needs some work.

The second game I played went pretty well, except for the fact that I kept dying. I got better towards the end of the match and I actually managed to kill someone!

Hopefully there won't be too many more weird glitches. Otherwise, it's fun stuff.

There's no way I would have bought it at $30, so thank you for staying on top of deals like this.

This is great! And I believe Minecraft will also end up in Software Center soon: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/features

Scroll down all the way to the "Choose from hundreds of games" headline and what do you see? Minecraft is listed as supported software!

Cute, in a kind of sadistic way. Still, I wonder if they really expect people to buy it? Some Indie titles do seem to cross a line between small-scale production and over-priced freeware.

I got Darwinia and would likely get Multiwinia if they made that avilable as well :D

Yeah, well, it annoys me when something like that happens anyway... like when we get the first or second game in a series but do not get the third or fourth. It ruins continuity. Granted, I am unaware of Multiwinia sharing anything in particular with the other Introversion titles (which I should admit I have never played either), but it still annoys me...

At least the source code is available, but I was under the impression it was under some weird payment model?

Yea, I suspect that releasing Multiwinia for Linux isn't a huge priority since it was a financial failure - but you can purchase the source code and get it working in Linux yourself if you're determined. I'm considering buying the source code - maybe I'll learn a thing or two about 3D rendering in games.

Nice to see they haven't given up on it then! We don't even have multiwinia though.

Hamish, I don't know what gave you that impression. Subversion will hopefully be released sometime this year, although they don't have an official release date yet. See here: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/introversion/viewtopic.php?t=2718

I am surprised to see Subversion mentioned there... I was under the impression that Introversion had given up on us. Or was I misinformed?

That's great news. Now, Subversion will be likely released on there as well, where I will gladly purchase it.

Coincidentally, I just started working on an Uplink mod last week. Check out the Uplink forums if you're interested. (Unlike other mods, mine actually includes Linux binaries!)

Now that is what I have been talking about, some proper games in the Ubuntu Software Center, that is really great news!

Suggestions for future inclusion:

Minecraft
Lugaru
H-craft
Doom 3 (steam sell it still so why cant ubuntu sort something out to sell the linux version?)
Prey
Penumbra series
Amnesia
Oilrush when its finished
Steel Storm
Caster

Looks kind of neat, though I have never played a flight simulator outside messing with some of the free software ones. Nice graphics though.
