Correct. As stated in the article clearly.

All three Szymanski brothers are working on a chaotic Harry Potter inspired game

Quoting: StellaI feel like that's gonna be taken down because Warner Bros. think their IP has been stolen or something stupid
It’s a slapstick comedy parody physics game, that takes nothing from WB IP to get taken down. Being similar or inspired by is not a reason to get taken down, and they definitely don’t have exclusive rights on Wizards lol

Fractured Alliance gives off some real classic Command & Conquer vibes

Quoting: Deleted_UserIs there a reason why this game is covered here, other than it looks nice? I mean as far as i can see there is no native linux version planned, it is not based on an open sourced engine, etc.
What makes this game special?
- Because it's a game, that I want to play on Linux.
- I thought it looked cool.
- I explained in the article how I grew up playing such games.
- I write based on my own interests.
- Proton exists and has done for years. Proton runs most things on Linux. It's pretty cool, you should try it.
- It's called GamingOnLinux, not NativeOrOpenSourceGamingOnLinux.

Feel free to use any of those points at any time for anything I cover to answer the question on all future articles ;)

Steam Next Fest - October 2024 edition is now live with lots of demos

Agreed. The big thick banners for all of them is a step backwards, especially terrible as I have browser text size up and so many bits of Steam don’t fit and just get cut off.

NonSteamLaunchers gets booted from Steam Deck plugin store Decky Loader

Quoting: QYMEAnother "he said/she said" situation, with nobody showing any proof of anything.
I was shown some links, but chose not to include them from the Decky team, because it's mostly random Reddit comments that we don't get the full context on (as other stuff seems to have happened in Discords and such), and some seem to have been taken the wrong way. It's just messy, so leaving it with the main statements provided.

Humble Store has a big sale on Handheld Hits - cheap games for Steam Deck

Quoting: saturnoyoFYI I can't follow any of those links, uBlock blocks them all.
This is the new Humble partner program through Impact, it's going to be the same for any site. You can either allow the links, or keep blocking, but there's nothing I can do from my end.

Quoting: chris.echozAlready been donating a few bucks a month since 2019 now, but this made me discover you added the "supporter email" feature I've been missing. Is it supposed to work right away (it doesn't for me), or will the badge show up after the next payment comes thru?

Regardless, thank you for all the great work over the years
Hi, you can actually ensure it works by using the Patreon account linker.

Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare come to PC on October 29

Quoting: EgonautAfter what R* did with GTAV, I will not buy any of their games anymore. You can never know if they will prevent you from playing a Single Player game.

It's unlikely RDR1 will have an online mode*, so no reason to put anticheat in.
(*) unless maybe they incorporate RDO into the package, which I doubt, given they don't even maintain it and would probably rather people just stop playing it.
The PC release as noted in the article has no online mode for RDR.

Space Marine 2 fixes online for Steam Deck but may need launch option on desktop Linux
8 October 2024 at 11:57 am UTC

Quoting: StalePopcornIs this [launch option] going to disable being able to use the mouse, like what others are experiencing with God of War: Ragnarok?
That's probably very game-specific.
