The excellent rogue-lite 'Streets of Rogue' now actually has an ending

QuoteAs per the city’s remarkably ill-thought-out rules, whoever has the Mayor’s Hat and makes a speech at the podium gets to be the mayor.

Hah, that's a perfect fit for this game.

I had a lot of fun with this. I'll definitely be jumping back in and trying to get to the actual end. It's definitely easier with a group of people, since ghosts can be resurrected so long as you have funds.

What are you clicking on this weekend and what do you think about it?

I'll mostly be playing Two Point Hospital, Graveyard Keeper, Mass Effect(P).

TPH: I'm on the third hospital now, and I'm just getting in to the training stuff. I'm enjoying it.

GK: I'm stuck on so many quests until I can get gold star beer. But I can't get hops because the miller won't sell them until "tomorrow", which never seems to come. Other than that, grind grind grind grind.

ME: Done most of the side quests now, so I'm off to confront Benezia.

Quoting: WorMzyI've been playing Mass Effect using Steam Play. For the most part, it's worked well. There have been a few crashes, but I think that's probably just the game rather than Proton.

Did you have to do anything special to make audio work? When I run Mass Effect using Steam Play, the intro audio works, and then the game is quiet.

Yeah, there's an asound override you need to do in winecfg: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40898

After that, sound works fine. For my system I had to run winecfg with the following prefix:
WINEPREFIX=/media/steam-ext4-fast/steamapps
compatdata/17460/pfx winecfg
you'll need to adjust your your setup.

I'm also playing The Long Dark and Two Point Hospital natively on Linux. Long Dark is always good fun, and Two Point is a very familiar-feeling game. I've only completed the first hospital so far, getting it to three stars, but I'm having a great time with it.

I don't think having a steam-dedicated question is a good idea. Better merging it with the existing wine question, changing the wording so it's clear that steam-play and wine are, for the purpose of the survey, the same thing. That way, if (for example) gog start wrapping games in wine (do they do this already?), there won't be an argument for adding another "do you use..." question.

Basically, I think it's better to have one question regarding wine-based play, than potentially dozens.

A developer from Bohemia Interactive wants to know your interest in the Arma 3 Linux port

I've watched Samsai play this a few times, and it looks quite cool. If there was an officially supported port, I'd be happy to buy it, but I won't buy something which is quite openly experimental and may disappear the next day.

I got a new kitten recently, maybe getting something cute and fluffy is the turning-30 equivalent of a mid-life crisis? :o

I was gifted Hearts of Iron IV the other week, so I might see if I can get into that.

Other than that, I'll be continuing my play through of Eternal Darkness.

Hipster Cafe seems like an amusing simulation game that may come to Linux

Oh boy! I hope you can make window boxes with avocado-slice-style cushions! No hipster cafe should be without one of those!
