Farming sim with dinosaurs 'Paleo Pines' is out now - Steam Deck Verified

My partner seems to enjoy the game, but I wasn't aware of the rebinding issue. Might be one for Deck, assuming it works properly, but I use dvorak layout on my desktop, which makes rebinding a hard requirement.

Quoting: PhiladelphusA review I read on RPS suggested that there wasn't much overlap between the "monster battling" and "cozy farming sim" sides of the game, and that it was sort of a missed opportunity. Anyone who's played it have any thoughts on that? I like the idea, but I'm not quite sold on the game yet.

I'd say that's a fair assessment from my ~2h playtime so far. It does feel like two games mushed together rather than one game with two play styles. It's still fun though, although the dialog system is a bit odd.

Dwarf Fortress on Steam now officially available for Linux

Quoting: jordicomaI don't play dwarf fortress, but whats the difference with the steam release and the free version?
The free it's on text mode but you can have graphics with themes.

As far as I can tell, it is the just graphics. The control scheme is still the new style, which is a lot more mouse-oriented than the old style.

I've not tested whether tilesets can still be used in the new versions, but you've been able to use tilesets in DF since... 2008? So if that's been locked behind a paywall I'd be surprised.

Quoting: sonic2kkIt didn't download the native release for me automatically

Just tried the steam version and yeah, same here. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

I'd suggest not giving Bethesda your money, they've historically been VERY anti-Linux.

Of course, since Microsoft bought Bethesda, and Microsoft "loves Linux", I'm sure we'll be seeing native ports of the Bethesda back catalogue any day now.
