I don't remember hearing about this before..
Oh well, glad it's out. I might buy it one day, but with all the awesome games coming out it might slip through the cracks for a couple of years. :P

Dwarf Fortress, while one of the most amazingly complex and fun games going, is very much an acquired taste with a steep learning curve that puts off a lot of people. I'm disappointed that it didn't get the recognition it deserves, but I'm not too surprised.
I am surprised that OpenXCOM didn't even get 10 votes in the FOSS category. The amount of work that's gone into that project this year is phenomenal. I suppose it has been a year and a half since the last stable release though, so maybe it's fallen off a lot of people's radars. When the next version lands with TFTD support, maybe it'll catch a few people's eyes.

Ooh, I played the alpha of this briefly, and it was quite fun. There was a bug with grass rendering though, making the ground all black, which made exploring a bit difficult. It certainly looks like it'll be a fun game.

I have been playing Armello, Dwarf Fortress, Cities: Skylines, ARK: Survival Evolved, and just recently Windward, The Long Dark and Saints Row IV.
EDIT: I also played through The Fall, which was a short, but good point&click story game.

Shouldn't OpenXcom be in "Favourite FOSS project", not "Favourite open source games"? It's not a game by itself, you need the original game(s) data files.
