The GOL Nouveau Experiment

Mmm, debian stable might be best for testing nouveau -- when I used to use it on Arch, you could flip a coin on whether you could successfully boot or not following a kernel update. This was a couple of years ago, but the sour taste it left in my mouth still persists.

It'll be interesting to see how well this does... When it finally releases in 2024. :P

I have tried out an occulus, and it was an interesting experience. It didn't sell the 'VR is the future' theory to me though. I can't see it taking off unless the technology becomes very affordable.

First Person Horror Adventure 'Albino Lullaby' Should Come To Linux

Looks like another case of a developer not knowing that SteamOS is Linux-based to me.. I don't think that bodes well. :/

Survival Game 'Rust' Fixes Linux Issues, Some Thoughts
4 February 2015 at 10:02 pm UTC

Sounds like they fixed the problem where the game wouldn't launch unless you symlinked some bundled libraries into a different directory, and the bug where the game would freeze after about 5 seconds unless you constantly killed the child process that the main process repeatedly spawns.

I think Rust could be good, given enough development. But it's really just a stop gap until DayZ gets ported.
