Satellite Reign, Class-based Strategy Game Released In Early Access For Linux
7 January 2015 at 11:26 pm UTC

Quoting: EKRboiIt is a Unity based game so that is already a -5 in my book.. hopefully there are enough +1's to counteract that :P
Yeahhhh.. I wish I could be a plus one, but the game is pretty unplayable on Linux right now (at least on my machine) due to graphical issues.

It is a pre-alpha though, so I'm very confident that it'll be brilliant once all the bugs are ironed out.

Valve's Newest Controller Design Looks Solid

QuoteWhat do you think?

I want to see a retail price, and I want to know when I can get it. Can I just plug it in to any ol' linux PC, or will it only work (out of the box) with a steam machine?

But generally speaking, I like what I'm seeing. As long as the price-point on the controller (and the machine) aren't too painful I plan on getting both. (that is, a steam machine for the living room, and an additional controller for my PC in the office)
Assuming you run on an recent(-ish) kernel, it should work OOTB on any Linux distribution.

ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Reviewed
4 January 2015 at 10:20 pm UTC

I've got a MK Glow, which is basically the same thing minus a few configurables and USB/audio ports, and it's amazing. The only downside for mu is the keys aren't a uniform shape, so although you can move the keys around into a different layout (e.g. dvorak), some keys will protrude slightly more than others.

It's a minor point, and I was fully aware of it before I took the plunge, so I have no hard feelings about it. I just wish that Roccat would sell keys for alternative layouts.

OHSHI-

I don't finish work until the 24th, but the games keep on piling up!

This is by no means a bad thing, I just wish someone would see to that 12 day weekend I keep wishing for. :D

No, Final Fantasy XIII-2 Probably Isn't Coming To Linux

I wouldn't complain if it did come to Linux (the more 'big' games, the better!), but I'll not cry myself to sleep if it doesn't. I'm not a fan of modern Final Fantasy games.

Metro 2033 Redux & Metro Last Light Redux Launch On Linux, Sorta (UPDATED)

Quoting: WorMzyOddly, everything seems to work really well, except for the loading screens which lag and/or hang for a second of two when they first appear.
It's not oddly, it is a really good port.

I didn't write that very well, I mean that it's odd that the loading screens are flaky, but even the benchmark test runs really smoothly. I suspect it's not loading the loading screens before starting to load whatever the loading screens are supposed to be loading. If that makes any sense.

I could try moving the game to my SSD and seeing if that helps, I guess.

Steam now shows "Windows" instead of "PC" in the search form :P

Yay! Common sense finally prevails!
