Mojang's Card Battle Game Scrolls Has New Hope For Linux

Honestly, this looks like a minigame you'd expect to see stuffed into a bigger game. I don't get all the fuss about it.

Dota2's tournament prize fund has hit nearly 7 million dollars

That's an insane amount of money.

No, I won't be watching. My younger brother probably will though, he loves watching people play games for hours at a time. I'd rather play a game than watch someone else play it.

The term "e-sport" really makes me chuckle though. Are the people competing "e-athletes"? That's an interesting description of someone who sits at a desk for a couple of hours, playing a video game. When I was younger, we just called it a LAN party. ^_^

Maybe I'm bitter because I know that I'd never win! :D

How to contact Tech Support

I thought I should pass it along. They have instructions for Linux users on there.

Ehhhhh. I hope they're not going to close tickets as WONTFIX if you're not using one of those, even if your problem is a valid one that would affect users on those systems too. :/

Quoting: nullzeroSo even if they're really near to version 1.0 it will hardly stop there :)

Indeed. I've been subscribed the github repo for a while now, and instead of calming down, as you would expect in the lead up to a big release, it seems to be accelerating!

Just look at the commits graph from March onwards: https://github.com/SupSuper/OpenXcom/graphs/commit-activity

Among The Sleep, A Horror Game From A Toddlers Perspective Releases May 29th For Linux
22 May 2014 at 7:38 pm UTC

QuoteI actually have a toddler myself
I read this as "I actually am a toddler myself" at first. :P

The dangers of skimming!

I have the demo of this, Arch users can also install it from the AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/among-the-sleep

Unfortunately, I have not had time to try it out in much detail, but it looks good from my initial impressions!

Metro 2033 & Metro Last Light Getting Upgrades, Metro 2033 To Release On Linux

I don't care that I have to buy them again, Metro: Last Light was, for me, the first really good game to port to Linux. I don't really pay attention to what's a AAA game and what isn't, but Metro: Last Light was, to me, a AAA game. And I loved it. Played the main story line through twice, even got the Shadow Ranger achievement, and I'm still in love with it.

I'm especially happy about the 2033 news. I'm part way through reading the novel right now, so I'm very excited to see the game based off of it is coming to Linux!

Drunken Robot Pornography, A Bullet Hell FPS Game Released For Linux
19 May 2014 at 11:00 pm UTC

Hah, I have to get this, if only for the name! :P

Plus it reminds me of a game I had a demo of on the Playstation. It think you played as a robot rabbit, and all of your weapons were fireworks..?

EDIT: Jumping Flash! That's what it was called. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_Flash!

My brother still thinks that the original Civilization is the definitive version

I approve!

Nothing beats the Amiga version.

Flower Shop: Summer In Fairbrook Released On Steam For Linux

Quotea dating and farming simulation game, yup those two genres have actually been merged
Haven't you played the Harvest Moon series? Oh man, you're missing out!

Rune Factory (a spin off) took it a step further and shoehorned dungeons, monsters, magic and crafting in too!

I'm afraid this looks like a subpar flash game that wouldn't be out of place on a early 2000's free online game site. I don't think I'll be paying $20 for this.
