AMD 'Ryzen' is the official name of the Zen processors, more details released today

Quoting: EhvisI've always chosen my CPUs based on single core performance.

Even today that is still a good selection for real world performance.

So, I'll keep an eye on this and see how it all works out in practice.

In my case choose new cpu using same parameter

I stay interested in i3 7350K because at stock clock have 20% more speed in single core (geekbench) compared my actual Pentium G3258 @ 4.1Ghz

20% is good but is low, in i3 7350K stay interested in how much is possible OC using air cooling solution without surpass 60 to 65 degrees

But if i3 7350K can OC to 5.0 or 5.2Ghz with 1.3 of vcore (maximum) and without surpass 60 to 65 degrees using air cooling solution will be must have in my case

Quoting: CJORWe need the AMD comeback! "Inteldia" is getting very expensive.
Meanwhile in Phoronix: The Rumor Is Back That Future Intel CPUs To Use Radeon Graphics

This notice stay better explained on techpowerup

https://www.techpowerup.com/228467/intel-could-license-amd-radeon-igpu-tech-for-future-processors

This is some parts of techpowerup article

QuoteIntel and AMD's cross-licensing arrangements could get more equitable in the future, with reports hinting at the possibility of Intel licensing AMD Radeon intellectual property to be used as Intel processors' integrated GPUs.

Rumors of such a deal were first reported by HardOCP this Spring, where it stated that the two companies were negotiating a licensing agreement.

Earlier this week, HardOCP editor Kyle Bennett commented on the site's forums that a licensing agreement has been reached between the two, even though Intel does not want this to be public.

Such an agreement could see AMD sharing designs of its Radeon integrated graphics processors with Intel, which will integrate it into its processor designs, and manufacture them.

Whether the amalgamated graphics solution will continue to be branded "AMD Radeon" or whether it will be marketed under the Intel graphics brands, remains to be seen.

Apparently stay related with intel could use some amd gpu techs (in past them make same thing)

For this reasons intel skylake gpu for example support all DX12 capabilities (thanks them can use some nvidia technologies (previous agreement) and some amd technologies too)

Maybe this new agreement could be announce big changes in vega, some time ago appear information about vega related different design (in vega apparently some units stay deleted for gain better ratio watt/performance) compared to polaris

Only needs wait, however this technologies maybe could visible when intel launch cannonlake with respective gpu (Gen10 ?)

Quoting: dubigrasuFortunately I have no issues with this driver, and actually is a keeper. It gives a slight increase in performance in some benchmarks, for example in the Unreal Infiltrator demo (compared here with the previous stable driver):

367.57:
Min/avg/max frametimes (ms): 8.35 / 27.8543 / 304.27
Min/avg/max FPS: 3.28655 / 35.9011 / 119.76
50/90/95/99 percentiles (ms): 29.04 / 35.06 / 36.65 / 42.29

375.20:
Min/avg/max frametimes (ms): 10.48 / 26.298 / 308.28
Min/avg/max FPS: 3.2438 / 38.0256 / 95.4198
50/90/95/99 percentiles (ms): 26.29 / 31.78 / 33.90 / 37.38

Frametimes (375.20 in red):

Very good information

Thanks for made that

In my case stay working without problem with GTX 630 GK 208 and in my new card too (native and non native apps tested until now)

In this wine version appear more work related color formats and some older games back to work case collin mac rae rally 2005 and sonic heroes

God Eater Resurrection works but have same audio error present in tales of zestiria

For fix is needed put change pulse in audio device to alsa (this can be resolved using wine registry)

And for videos works need devenum (this can show video) and quartz (this shows smoothly video) as native

Video Updated With Sound and 48fps (apparently leave put sound in all video if you dont have any profit from channel*)

Wine allowed me to re-live a gaming experience I had from when I was a child on Linux
7 November 2016 at 8:07 pm UTC

Quoting: Avehicle7887Wine is an amazing piece of software which should be loved by everyone

Partially it's thanks to it that I'm now a full time Linux user as there are some games (Guild Wars 2 being one of them) which I wouldn't do without.

I only reserve Wine for old Windows games of which are most likely never going to get ported over (and occasionally Free2Play MMOs), It's nice be able to re-play a favorite old game of mine without needing Windows for it.

That said I don't intend to buy any new Windows games regardless of how good they run in Wine, I believe there are enough cross platform tools to make a Linux release happen these days.

I have found some games listed on Wine-AppDB to be outdated and do not reflect how the game runs in Wine today.

For example BloodRayne has a Silver/Garbage rating, however after a full playthrough last week I'd easily give it a Gold/Platinum rating.

Thanks to wine devs, now is possible play on linux many old titles

In my case most windows game played works in linux using wine (in my case more play old games and emulators than newer games)

Respect wine appdb in various entries stay oudated but is very simple* add your results for help wine

Quote*need register in wine appdb and send your results, most part of this process are simple

only need add: type of game license aka: steam, gog, gamergate, retail or other, what works, what dont works, what dont tested, which wine are used in test, select distribution used, if game is correctly installed

However wine devs dont support playonlinux or any wine patched version but staged is supported

In my case sometimes put some results

Another important step if want help is report problems bugs** in your used apps

Quote**for send bugs is needed stay register in wine bugzilla

wine appdb register is different to wine bugzilla register
