Competition: Win a key for the metroidvania-style game King Lucas

Well I have to say that I have an obsession with Warriors.
In MMO's/RPG's etc I play ONLY Warrior class.
Different types of Weapons/Swords/Shields/Armour just excite me.

The bad thing is that I cant draw, so the warriors I imagine cannot come to life :(

I have geared many warriors in different games to top notch Armour and weapons and sometimes I browse devianART for different Warrior armour/weapons and concepts.

These drawings reminded me, my attempts to draw a warrior when I was a kid .... good times!
I was yelling & crying because my warriors were not good as the cartoons and movies.
I was blaming my pencil for that because it was a cheap pencil and wanted an expensive one for better drawings :D
Well actually I was looking for a magic pencil at that age :P

Some thoughts on switching from Ubuntu to Antergos for Linux gaming
18 January 2017 at 9:14 pm UTC Likes: 3

Welcome to the Bleeding Edge!!! :P
For me was either Manjaro or Antergos
I started with Manjaro since at that time Antergos was taking its first steps and stayed with Manjaro until today...
I dont plan at the moment to switch to any other distro since Manjaro satisfy my needs.

KDE at the beginning looks like an endless chaos but is the best DE available and when you master Everything you will understand its power.

I can tell you around 1000 tips for KDE but I will list just some

1. Dont forget to enable Window Behavior -> Active Screen Follows Mouse
That helps when you have 2-3 monitors the apps open where is your mouse

2. Windows Rules helps you to manage windows positions and many other options, for example I want to open clementine and twitter on second screen on startup, you can use windows rules for that.

3. I have my pc to autologin in order to run the applications I want(steam, clementine, twitter, firefox, firefox, netflix and so on and then to autolock
this is the command for autolock KDE just put it on autostart

qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver Lock

Thats all , have fun :)

How To: An update on fixing screen-tearing on Linux with an NVIDIA GPU

I dont think you can manage to have a tearing free distro if you dont have a compositor enabled but if you have Plasma/KDE you dont need these settings , you just need 2 things.

have the compositor enable in everything
(there was a bug that compositor was going disable if you launched anything related to opengl and that was causing tearing and many other problems.)
To fix that you had to create a rule to force the compositor on
Windows Rules: Appearance and Fixes --> Force Compositing --> Force --> No
(dont know if this bug still happens or is fixed)

Then you have to add these lines on /etc/profile

gedit /etc/profile

export __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1
export __GL_SYNC_DISPLAY_DEVICE=1
export __VDPAU_NVIDIA_SYNC_DISPLAY_DEVICE=1
export __GL_SYNC_DISPLAY_DEVICE=1
export KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER=1
export KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0

As you can see I dont have any of the settings mentioned enable and 0 tearing on everything I do.

The latest Steam Beta Client fixes a nearly 4 year old Linux issue, fixes other Linux issues

Quoting: LeopardSteam on Linux works normal if system language is set to English.

However,at other languages it has issues

For example:

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/4792

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/4790

Well to me it seems that this is like 99% NOT a steam issue.
This problem exists in most of the programs in Linux and it happens if you are not able to set up your locale correctly to your distro.
I am using Greek Locale in everything I do and all are working fine.
In my noobish Linux era I had problems as well running programs because I had Greek Locale.
by changing only the Language/locale in your distro you are using is not enough, you have to generate your locale.

This is how you do it...
First choose what locale you are using by removing the #

sudo gedit /etc/locale.gen

Example:
#dv_MV UTF-8
#dz_BT UTF-8
el_GR.UTF-8 UTF-8
el_GR ISO-8859-7
el_CY.UTF-8 UTF-8
el_CY ISO-8859-7
#en_AG UTF-8
#en_AU.UTF-8 UTF-8

Then regenerate your locale - reboot and you should be fine

sudo locale-gen

Some absolute crazy deals are available on Steam for Linux for under £4

I find steam very easy to get games in descent prices, even AAA titles get super discounted on Steam.
I didnt bought a lot of games on steam this year since I recently switched my gaming habits to PS4 and I was surprised that their sales matched the steam sale prices. I was expecting to be much more expensive.

For the first time in my life I own a PS4 and is like you are in a different Gaming World ^_^
I have spend like 250 euro for just 17 games in PS4 that I REALY wanted to play which will never be available on Linux and some of them I dont think will ever be available on PC.

I feel complete now, whatever I cant play on Linux I play it on PS4

I JUST NEED TIME!!!!!

The Steam Winter sale is now live, prepare your wallets
22 December 2016 at 11:01 pm UTC

I have like 2321 Linux games in my Steam Library so I dont know if I will buy something yet but I guess I will spent my 50 euro getting some indie games on sale that I will probably never play.

The good thing is that my 2 year contract with my local mobile company has expire today and I can get around 800 Euro of goodies.
So I have decided to get a Playstation 4 1TB and a Samsung Smart TV 4k 43" just to play DarkSouls 3 , Uncharted and some other games I like on PS4!

Wine 2.0-rc1 released, also showing progress towards Overwatch working in a future Wine version
13 December 2016 at 12:46 pm UTC

I used to play Hearthstone with Wine for my quick 10-15 mins game pleasure but Rocket League covers that part so right now I dont need something from Blizard.
Actually I dont have any games that I play with Wine , only some applications are running Wine and that because of remote support like TeamViewer and LiteManager.

Thats all :)

Hmmm... I wonder if we can make Blizard to port ALL their games to ALL OS no matter what...
Not a petition something that will hurt their wallets....

So far Overwatch is only playable in Windows and consoles ... so MAC users are on our side :)

I wonder if it is possible to make a "Strong" movement like for example to force everyone to stop their subscription or Stop playing any Blizzard Games for maybe 2-3 Month unless we got a word from Blizzard that ALL their games will be playable to ALL OS ?? :D

Lets say if we throw out a lot of bombs at social media, for example a Banner that says:

7/7/2017
EVERYONE STOPS PLAYING BLIZZARD GAMES
FOR A MONTH
- LETS STOP THE MONOPOLY!!! -
SUPPORT ALL OS

Do you thing Blizzard will get scared if social Media push them over? or they are going to wait for that date 7/7/2017 to see what will happen? :P

The next driver release from NVIDIA will support using Vulkan without needing the X11 on Linux
