Remember the Smach Z handheld? LowSpecGamer took a look and others at Gamescom

Well..ehmm... I had almost the same idea before 3 years :P

Actually I was looking for a keyboard with a small screen to broadcast what ever things I was running on the computer.(if you know any let me know)

You know laying on the bed and controlling your pc with a wireless keyboard/mouse, sometimes is hard to see from distance what are you clicking.

The only thing that worries me a bit is AMD due to the bad performance with Linux.

Anyway hopefully this project will be a success and if its open source I know that many programmers will do crazy things with Smach Z handheld.

The Steam Hardware Survey for August 2016 shows Linux has grown again

Unfortunately Linux will stay as is with a few + or -

For Gamers
-------------
A couple of my friends who tried Linux(Manjaro) I can say that they liked the OS and Plasma 5 features, they use it only for games and browsing, windows was just an annoying launcher but due to the new AAA games releasing only for Windows they went back to Windows. :|

For Companies
----------------
We made a test in one company to switch to Linux just for testing purposes since they have most of their software on cloud.
Only 2 users just for testing purposes ( age 50-55)
It was simply impossible to switch them to Linux because of MS Office and especially for outlook they just couldnt get used to Thunderbird and Libreoffice.

New Generation age (8-15)
----------------
As I see it from my relatives daughters and sons....
They dont care what OS they are using as long as facebook, facebook games, youtube + more social media web pages are working.
For gaming for some reason they prefer their tablets or their smartphones :O

Oh well... :(

Unity 5.5 beta released for Linux, the first release from a unified codebase
1 September 2016 at 4:20 pm UTC

Quoting: natewardawg
Quoting: ZambzzBig godotengine fan here, will never use unity, but its nice to see they are finally getting their act together.

I've used Godot and even made some code contributions to it, but haven't been able to actually switch to it due to ongoing projects. But, especially now that they're going to implement C# support very soon (and some of these projects are coming to an end), I hope to switch completely from Unity to it :)

I am learning C++ from scratch because of the Unreal Engine but I thought that Unity and other gaming engines were mostly using C++... I guess I Was wrong :|
I searched and found that Unity is using C# or Javascript and not C++...why?

Now I Am a bit confused, Which Language is the best for gaming development?
Which Language will benefit me most?

Learning C++ is a bit hard but is ok atm.
but really I cant imagine myself that I have to learn Java as well...

Editorial: I ditched SteamOS in favour of a normal Linux distribution for my gaming

pfft... just install a rolling release distro...
I really love rolling release distros thats why I am using Manjaro.
It was either Arch,Antergos or Manjaro. :P

I cant imagine myself working with a non rolling release distro. Once you experienced it you will never go back to ubuntu like distros...

Plasma 5 + Manjaro = Amazing Experience !

Sunless Sea expansion Zubmariner releases on October 11th with Linux support
29 August 2016 at 3:12 pm UTC

I risk it and bought it while it was on early access since they already had an internal build.
It took a while to be released on Linux but I guess it worth the risk since I get ALL the DLC for FREE

SUNLESS SEA - LIFETIME EDITION which it gives free lifetime DLC for backers and early access purchasers.

As about the game I gave it a shot, first try got annihilated by a large crab within a min .. :'(
second try I was trying to find sources/food and some pirate ships killed me... meh... :O

I so hate micromanagement games, be responsible and take care for everything...
Oh well I may give it another try...
