Quoting: evergreenI only hope my logitech momo race will be supported on it..Recent Linux kernels support most Logitech wheels, but Linux games rarely do. SDL2 provides a force feedback (or haptic) API, so it's up to the developer/porter to make use of it. I wonder if the Showdown port or the native Euro Truck Simulator 2 support force feedback at all on Linux.

Quoting: SabunOr was it simply VP being pre-occupied with Showdown so Codemasters decided on Feral for this? Regardless, I'm excited!Could be the other way around. I'm sure a native port always takes a lot more time in development and QA than a wrap job, unless you're building the wrapper from scratch.

I played this for a few hours on a friend's ps3 a year or so back, and had plenty of fun. I'm sure it's not the most realistic simulator out there, but in my opinion that's a point in the game's favour. There are other options for people who prefer realism to enjoyment. Not that this one is anywhere near as arcadey as Showdown and it's ilk.

Wouldn't work if you didn't have to log in every time you play though, which means GOG Galaxy will never follow suit.

Quoting: wojtek88Valve did a very clever move when they decided to give players "free weekends" with games. I'm sure it generates huge income - better or similar to demo versions I guess.Personally I prefer a demo, but I guess this type of malarkey comes with the subscription mindset. Not Valve's invention AFAIK.

Quoting: PublicNuisanceHopefully this means Saints Row IV is on it's way to Linux as well.It says "Saints Row IV will be available on SteamOS and Linux in 2015" right on the store page. :) AFAIK it's the only one in the series that's been officially confirmed.

Quoting: ElectricPrismFor professionals, however, the truth is simply - not yet. There are tons of different professional use cases and for many of them GIMP is just fine. The UI is hardly streamlined but it's slowly getting there.
Quoting: ElectricPrismI get the feeling Adobe has been paid off by Microsoft/Apple to never come to Linux...Conspiracy theories are fun. It's more likely that Adobe - like most large desktop software businesses - simply does not see Linux as a worthwhile market just yet.

Quoting: dubigrasuI wonder why they took this job anyway, surely there are other games out there better suited for their technology. You're assuming they have the luxury of being able to pick and choose. I'm sure they wouldn't just turn down the opportunity to port a relatively high-profile game like this.

I'd bet you'll be lucky to find a single "big" cross platform game engine that doesn't support Vulkan in a couple of years.
