The GOG summer sale is now live

I've never tried before, but I quickly checked with an X360 controller just now and the game didn't recognise it. It might be possible to get it working with some tweaking but it's not something I have any experience with as I almost exclusively use kb+m.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Really quick question does the saboteur work with a controller from your script, 3rd person shooters are not that much fun on mouse and keyboard for me.

I try to make them as easy to use & as much like playing a native game as possible. As long as you have the dependencies installed it's simply a case of putting the files in one place & running the build script to assemble the wrapper, then once that's done the resulting wrapper can be treated much like a native game - simply move it to wherever you want it & run the start script to play.
None of them are likely to come to Linux officially; I don't buy any games for Wine until they're old/discounted enough that an official Linux release is unlikely, and I strongly recommend that others do the same - save the high/full price purchases for Linux titles in order to encourage more official Linux releases.
Feel free to ask if you need help with any of them :)

Quoting: GuestHow reliable are these Wine-wrapped games? I've never bought a Wine-wrapped game before, so I don't know what's involved, or how compatible they are, or how much setup I have to do.

Quoting: GuestI would consider buying some of the older ones that have no chance of coming to Linux (but I won't buy anything that may have a native port coming).

Quoting: GuestThanks, I'll keep that in mind. Perhaps I'll get a cheap one, and if it works out I'll consider more.

My wishlist consists mostly of newer Windows-only games that I'm waiting to get either official Linux support or a big enough price drop before I consider buying them, and of 66 games in my wishlist only about 7 of them are on sale atm... and the discounts aren't that great.
Yes, I plan to look into using DXVK for games that will benefit from it :)
Wait for official Linux support so that it counts as a Linux sale

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Quoting: ArehandoroOf my 47 wishlisted games only 5 are on sale... Either I have a really weird taste or majority of people have no clue about games. Will go for the latter just in case xD
Am guessing the bulk of the users on gog went for new releases and probably windows only games

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus looks very XCOM and the enemy has been revealed
22 March 2018 at 12:43 pm UTC
It's not mentioned in the WineHQ report, but the last time I tried it you need to add an override for msadp32.acm (native, builtin) for sound to work properly: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_judas_does_this_run_in_wine_thread_v1173/post233

If you can get through the outdated graphics, and want to feel the true WH40K - XCOM experience, this old gem is a must

GOG are doing an early St. Patrick's Day Sale, a few Linux titles going cheap

In windowed mode you need to restart the game for the resolution change to take affect. Alternatively you could try setting a virtual desktop rather than use the game's windowed mode, and the virtual desktop window should resize automatically.
A lot of games have weird quirks like that, not a lot that can be done about it

Quoting: TcheyI still can't get a windowed game : it's windowed but taking all the screen, always with the same resolution no matter the options i pick.

Quoting: TcheyAlso the mouse cursor is extremely sensitive, not unplayable, but annoying. and it's stretched, but looking at some videos on youtube, it's seems "normal". Weird, if it's by design.

According to the PCGamingWiki page: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Freedom_Force_vs._The_3rd_Reich
You can run the game in windowed mode by passing the "-w" argument to it:
./start.sh play : -w
Alternatively you could try setting a virtual desktop instead, e.g.:
./start.sh play desktop=1280x720
(there are also other ways to set a virtual desktop with my wrappers; see the release notes for more information)
Deleting ~/.local/share/fforcevt3r/Settings/options.dat (or <wrapper root>/userdata/Settings/options.dat if using local userdata) should revert it to default settings.

Quoting: Tchey...then i changed to something smaller (HD720 : 1280*720) thinking i could play windowed
