Quoting: adamhm[users-only]Here's a code for Deus Ex GOTY Edition for whoever's fastest (it's not currently in the sale but I have a spare key):

EB[GREEN]F[VIOLET]-ADEF[YELLOW]-[GREY][BLUE][YELLOW][GREY][RED]-[VIOLET][WHITE]A[YELLOW][WHITE]

Wrapper link: Deus Ex for Linux

The offsets given at WSGF aren't exact... anyway I updated the wrappers with the aspect ratio options earlier, so if you use the updated version you'll now be able to apply/revert the hacks without needing to edit the executables manually.

Quoting: TcheyHi, any hint how i can play this full screen and in 1920*1080, or at least in a good ratio so it's not stretched ?

I'll be adding an option to the start scripts soon to select the aspect ratio & apply the required hacks as detailed at WSGF:

http://www.wsgf.org/dr/freedom-force
http://www.wsgf.org/dr/freedom-force-vs-3rd-reich/en

Quoting: TcheyIt works well in fullscreen, but if i change resolution to fit my (standard i think) screen ratio, my screen is "destroyed" (weird size and unplayable, with the picture "out of the screen", hard to explain...).

This is an issue with Wine itself AFAIK, it's always seemed to have issues with switching display resolutions in my experience. It's one of the reasons why I always try to have my wrappers detect the system's desktop resolution & set that on first run before starting the games (the other reason is that some desktop environments really hate when the desktop resolution is altered by something & it can cause big problems for them). One possible workaround is to set a virtual desktop.

It would be nice if Square Enix were to bring the other Deus Ex games to GOG... they'd all be instabuys for me (ideally the DXHR release would also include the original with separate Missing Link, or it would be made available separately at least, as the Director's Cut is buggy and graphically inferior compared to the original). Would really like to play DXMD but the prior issues with abandonment of their games in buggy states and their extremely pro-DRM stance has meant I've refused to buy anything of theirs (except for their GOG releases) since DXHR: DC.

Quoting: hummer010On top of that, buying the System Shock games supports Nightdive, who are bringing the new System Shock game to Linux.

Speaking of which... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1598858095/system-shock/posts/2115044 :/

[users-only]Here's a key for The Witcher Enhanced Edition for whoever's fastest:

echo VGhlIFdpdGNoZXI6IGh0dHBzOi8vd3d3LmdvZy5jb20vcmVkZWVtL0NBTlg4Q1FVOFhUU0xXTkIK | base64 -d

It's been sitting out in the open on GOG's forums for ages but I guess everyone there has it by now.[/users-only]

Quoting: GustyGhostDo your scripts remain entirely contained? i.e. WINE does not take a giant shit on the filesystem/DE settings/libraries?

They are prevented from polluting the system's menus and linking the user directories ("My Documents" etc) over, and nothing is installed system-wide by them. You can even put them on a USB drive or so and run them from that (which I often do when testing them on my other systems).

Quoting: GustyGhostEven still, the only way I would try a community WINE wrap is if said game is absolutely gratis. I don't want any money going to tyrant developers.

"Tyrant developers"? I hope you don't tolerate the use of DRM either, as that's *way* more "tyrannical" behavior...

Anyway there are tons of great games that will never see a native Linux release & would be a shame to miss out on. My approach is to only buy Windows games that are old & deeply discounted/cheap enough that a Linux port is likely to never happen and only if they're DRM-free. Full/high price purchase = must support Linux + DRM-free

King of Fighters 2002 is currently free on GOG, plus a bunch of titles on sale
