I'd promise to not buy any more of their games but with the DRM they load them with these days I had already done that years ago.

Quoting: PublicNuisanceHopefully they fix the fullscreen issue on Linux by launch though.

Didn't meet such an issue...

From the Itch.io page:

"Dear Linux users,

Before being able to run the game, please open the config.ini file and set FULLSCREEN = no

In case you use a screen resolution which is lower than Full HD (1920x1080), please also add:

RESIZEABLE = yes

RESOLUTION = 1366x768 (please type in YOUR resolution here)"

I noticed the Steam version launched in windowed mode by default bypassing this.

RetroArch announce the Open Hardware project, plus a new fantasy console core

I'll wait to hear more about the specs of the project to be optimistic. Many projects love to throw around the word "open" and then use closed source binaries/BIOS and other non open practices.

Monado now officially OpenXR conformant, gets a SteamVR driver

I remember being so pumped for VR back in the day and then when it came out all I saw were reasons not to dump money on it. I won't pretend to understand all of the ins and outs of Monado but if it means VR on Linux is seeing progress then i'm happy.

I am not the biggest fan of point and click games so what I ask from them is to be somewhat unique either in setting, style or story and to not have nonsensical puzzles. PRIM checked those boxes for me, the fact they have an early bird option and offer a DRM free Linux version means I pledged after enjoying the demo. Hopefully they fix the fullscreen issue on Linux by launch though.

I would love a GOG version just on principle of Windows users getting one but I feel I will be disappointed.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyBut . . . but that's impossible! Didn't Proton kill native releases?!?!

Considering it's not out yet you may be jumping the gun here. Not to mention one game doesn't shift the balance regardless. If the percent of games that see a native release is less than it was before Proton does it matter if we get a specific native release of this game ?

It's not my cup of tea but i'm always happy to see a game with a native Linux version have success.

In the last month I have finished Sable's Grimoire: A Dragon's Treasure; Bermuda; Lilith Hall; Oculto; Kiara And My Ara Ara Adventure; CONTROL: Sci-Fi Psychological Visual Novel; The Darkside Detective; as well as replaying through Condemned: Criminal Origins and F.E.A.R.

Condemned and F.E.A.R. were as good as I remembered. A Dragon's Treasure and The Darkside Detective were great. Control was terrible. Bermuda; Lillith Hall were decent. Oculto was medicore.

I plan to start Evoland; Evoland 2 as well as Death and Taxes soon and then delve into a replay of Quake IV.

An interesting looking VN that has ties to great lore with a DRM free option and a reasonable price ? Insta pledged.

Quoting: IcefinityBut I do wish that Godot one day will be the best since their philosophy is what matters.

You wish it to be true but what are you doing to try to make it happen ? Are you making games using Godot ? Are you donating money to Godot ? Are you contributing code to Godot ? Are you helping with documentation ? Are you making turorials for others to help them use Godot ? I'm not trying to shame you but it is a self fulfilling prophecy that Godot won't have the things you want if you don't do anything to help it get there. I give them $5 a month. I try to play and review games that use Godot as well as try to point out bugs or issues to developers. Are these groundbreaking things ? Nope but I want Godot to succeed and I do what little I can to help it along. If I'm wrong and you do indeed contribute in some way to Godot then so be it, i'll eat crow and will be happy you are helping.

I remember I use to have the attitude that I would leave Windows for Linux when it got just right for gaming but then realized that if I was doing nothing to help it get to where I wanted it would forever never be good enough. Sometimes you have to be the change you want to see.
