Open firmware; Xe graphics; 14" screen; checks a lot of my boxes. I doubt that wifi is FOSS but even if I was right that's an easy fix.

Yet another example of why I don't buy games at launch. I am happy they are fixing things for their users but at the same time reading this you would think the game was in beta not a fully launched product.
Windows compatibility layer Wine 5.20 development release is out now

I just tried to enable Fsync and Esync through Lutris on prey with Wine 5.20 and both still gave me the error about uncompatible Wine version so I don't think that is fixed yet.

Quoting: BielFPsDoes this also help Fsync? or not yet?

Itch really deserves more praise then they get. They are one of only two open source clients for Linux. GOG never released a Linux client; Steam won't open source their Linux client or their engines; Epic won't make a Linux client. So many Linux users seem to want to use a client but pass up the one that goes the extra mile and open sources their work.

This is why I rarely buy games at launch. If I give it even a month or two and wait for a few patches I get a better product. Kudos to the developer for actually trying to fix the game. It's sometimes makes me wary if I look to see a game hasn't released a single patch on a game that has been out a while because the odds of it not having even one bug is slim to none.

Good riddance. I think it is a good thing if less developers are on the Linux platform that don't want to put any work in to make a quality Linux game.
Speak for yourself not others. I don't spout garbage like making a Linux version is easy.
Quoting: GuestAnother case of "if you are not familiar with linux don't port your game to linux", that will just lead to having a bad time. Developing a game for linux is NOT easy and we all have been guilty of spreading the myth that it is.
Frankly my dream is that ultimately one day the OS you run will become irrelevant and then the "native gaming" nonsense goes away for good.

I will take Coreboot over a fully closed source BIOS but the fact they rely on closed source blobs to make it work still angers me any time they want to slap the open source tag on it. The same can be said for many things, the Linux kernel included. It's all open source ! Except for the parts that aren't....... Just sad what we have had to settle for due to hardware manufacturers.

I would recommend anyone thinking of pledging to the Kickstarter to try the demo first. There is a bug with the Unity engine and the game that effects those using Mesa/Nouveau drivers. The screen basically flickers to black over and over when the character walks. The developer has reached out to Unity for help but it is ongoing. The Steam thread with more info can be found here:

I tried it on three systems of mine and the only way I could get the game to run properly was with closed source Nvidia drivers. All of my systems using Mesa/Nouveau had the bug.
