Quoting: PublicNuisanceI already beat it on Windows and own it on Steam but if they bring the Linux version to GOG I'd be happy to buy a Linux copy there. Would want to have a DRM free copy anyway.

The Linux version of A Story About my Uncle included in the Humble Indie Bundle 18 is DRMFREE.. Well.. All Linux games in that bundle are DRMFREE and I just purchase it for that reason.

Just checked it out and confirmed. Downlaoded it now. I still would buy a copy from GOG if they brought it over as I want to give their Linux version some money.

Serious Sam Fusion 2017 now has benchmark modes and more, here's some quick tests

I did some testing for comparison.

Ultra preset with 2x AA at 1920*1080 using OpenGL: AVG of 71 FPS on Hatsheput

I let it play through the entire level rather than 60 seconds.

My system:

FX-9590, 16GB DDR3-2133, R9 270 2GB, Mesa 17.1, Linux Mint 18.1 64, Kernel 4.11.1

I tried Vulkan but couldn't get the game to let me set it without crashing. It was only using 1 core of my CPU at 90-92% with the rest at 20% or less. GPU usage was usually close to or at 100%. Used about 1.2GB of VRAM and 5GB of system RAM.

Dying Light & Dead Island Definitive Edition might soon work on Mesa

As someone who owns Dead Island and Dying Light as well as uses Mesa this is awesome news. To be fair I recall both working for me but with terrible FPS. Although even with AMDGPU Pro drivers my RX480 had about 20 FPS on low so not like Mesa could have been much worse.

Quoteif enough people would request a Linux version

Those are the "suckiest" reasons. Enough? What is enough? Only a fraction of the people ever get into a place to request anything. An average "request" thread doesn't even get enough attention to cover the cost of a tweet, let alone a port. It's basically one of those easily made statements that can only lead to no.

Doesn't hurt to head over and at least say +1 let alone post your reasons for wanting it on Linux. The developer on the forums has been nothing but kind and helpful so far. Do I wish games would just come on over to Linux ? Yep I sure do but at the moment we have to work for them. Your options are to fight and claw for the games you want or to buy it and play it on Windows. Hopefully one day it changes.

Take your breaks Liam, no one here should expect you to work 7 days.

Always glad to see updates to Mesa. Every little bit helps.

Best case both parties continue to want to support Linux. We won't know for a while.

Made my wishes known on their forum. Hopefully enough people want it.

Hellpoint, the dark sci fi action RPG now has a demo on Steam with Linux support
4 May 2017 at 2:02 am UTC

I was getting 40-50 fps but it was stuttering/hitching bad. Felt like I was getting 10-20 fps. I would advise anyone with good or bad fps to let them know on the steam forums, they're trying to see what optimization needs to be done.

I backed the kickstarter, really like their attitude.

A Story About My Uncle looks like it might finally arrive on Linux soon

Quoting: AryvandaarThis looks interesting. Have you played it?

I beat it on Windows. The story is decent. The platforming is decent except for I didn't enjoy some sections where you had to chain together grappling hook combos. Overall it was decent and worth $5-10. Hopefully the Linux version comes to GOG if it gets made.
