Nvidia talk Vulkan in a developer blog post, they say Vulkan supplements OpenGL

While I hope they support it I doubt they are really going to very well. Nvidia is the Apple of the GPU world. If they can't make it part of their closed garden where only their customers can benefit from it then they don't care about it. I'll take technology like TressFX over HairWorks anyday. It doesn't care if you have an Nvidia or an AMD GPU.

Papo & Yo finally has a Linux version on Steam, two years later
15 January 2016 at 2:23 pm UTC

The god news for me is that I had never heard of this game and now I have. Looks interesting. I'll be going for the DRM free version though. I am always open to a Steam version to those who want it. Choice is possibly the greatest strength the PC platform has whether it be your choice of Windows, Mac, Linux, Steam, DRM Free, etc.

OUYA is blocking a Linux version of That Dragon, Cancer being on Steam
15 January 2016 at 2:20 pm UTC

I'd say that this makes me never want an Ouya but I was never going to buy one anyway. I don't touch consoles anymore. Kickstarter is supposed to help prevent backroom deals like this but I guess when consoles are involved they may always be there.

That being said anyone who was shocked at this turn of events shouldn't have used Kickstarter in the first place. There is always a chance you may not get what you had wanted in the time and manner you wanted it. It's just a risk that comes with the territory. I'm not saying it's fair or that it is right but Kickstarter is full of examples of it happening and you have to be ignorant or foolish not to think it could happen to you.

Awesome. The first Homefront wasn't groundbreaking by any means but was a solid shooter.

I had just heard about this game from Jim Sterling on his lest of best games of 2015. Was sad when I saw it was Windows only so this is great news.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation still aiming for a Linux version

As long as they are still planning it I can't get mad. I haven't paid for it yet so i'm not out money.

Ori and the Blind Forest won't come to Linux for now, thanks to Microsoft

I understand how the developer is hamstrung and don't fully blame them. It was a bad deal to sign though. Hopefully crowdfunding can reduce the number of deals like this.

Looks like Republique is no longer getting a Linux port

My intention to buy this game has also been abandoned. At the end of the day I don't mind. We still have more and more games coming to Linux. Lots to be happy about.
