I already thought this was bad news but when I looked at the list of other studios this happened to I realized that I have steadily liked the games from these studios less and less. Not a good sign at all. One more reason to support FOSS games in my opinion.

The modular Framework Laptop 16 opens up for pre-orders

I applaud them on what they're doing and have done but they're still way behind Nova Custom and Purism for me. Also behind System76. I place a high priority on having Coreboot support as well as being able to run the libre kernel. I don't game on laptops myself.

Fedora considering adding in 'privacy-preserving' telemetry

Quoting: dziadulewiczThis is how it always starts. IBM has never been a Linux company, they have shady past in the 30's 40's Germany and Red Hat is but a name now from what it used to be.

There are plenty of alternatives out there.

Exactly. Many people always complain about how many different Linux distros are out there but this is the time when that becomes a huge positive. Try something else.

If you get it through GOG then that's pretty good and I would recommend it. I played the GOG version through Wine back in 2020 and it ran great then. I liked the story but some of the missions were tedious. Overall solid game though.

My thoughts would be that if it's opt out instead of opt in by default then it's a terible idea. Also saying "privacy preserving telemetry" is an oxymoron to me. If you are giving up any data then it is not preserving your privacy.

It's moves like this that are making me support FOSS games more. They usually actually care about Linux support regardless of financials.

Quoting: GuestHow do you get mangohud to look like that on desktop mode? I really like the aesthetic and want to copy it (not to mention its better for alot of games as you don't lose a corner of the screen)

I can't speak for Liam but when I open Goverlay there is a section called "orientation" under the visual tab and I just choose landscape vs portrait. Doesn't say the words but there is a picture of them.

Zoom Platform, a store aimed at 'Generation X' adds more Linux support

Makes me think of the Zoom video conferencing program which I despise but I can get past that. Happy to see another storefront focussing on DRM free.

Free open source RPG 'FreedroidRPG' arrives on Steam

Looks like a FOSS mashup of Diablo and Fallout from the screenshots. Interesting enough to give it a go. Nice to see they use Codeberg and have an App Image.
