Quoting: LoudTechieAs far I'm aware call center scamming is quite resilient.Too resilient, unfortunately. Please support the folks using a combination of comedy and education to raise awareness, sometimes in ridiculous ways. (Those links are just a few of my favourites - there are plenty more out there, with all sorts of approaches.)

Quoting: HighballIf MSFT could harness the power of all the desktop windows machines, they would be saving a crap-ton of money.Well, it's already a proven business-model thanks to all of those infamous botnets!

Quoting: Liam DaweThe brown era certainly was interesting. At one point back then, I remember chatting to someone I knew at the time about some newly-released screenshots, and they were insistent that I was exaggerating and there were not only shades of brown and grey in an image. So I immediately ran it through a tool that generated a colour-palette from the picture, and lo and behold, literally only greys and browns. The reaction was priceless.

Anyway, seriously, this game looks really cool - great to see more vibrant stuff emerging after so many generations of games coloured only with sloppy shades of grey-and-brown! LOVE the mock-up box at the end of the trailer, too!

QuoteCampaign mode: Clear floors filled with robots, and in crucial moments, execute ultraviolent finishes on your enemies to survive.Being a fan of robots, I'm not sure I'm ok with that.

"Sorry guys, you're right, we should just leave the old version up and that's what we'll do." would've sounded a whole lot better - it's obvious they didn't want to deal with being stung by a bunch of refund requests, as people have been discussing, especially since the recent Helldivers 2 issues proved that Valve will make exceptions to the usual refund-window if there's a change to what the product was originally sold as.
I do wish that devs like this would just own it when they make a goof. I'd have a lot more respect for that!

Quoting: Liam DaweArticle updated, see the bottom.Wow, I had no idea that outright stating that it will be impossible to download it after the update is an erroneous way of stating that it simply won't get the update and you actually can continue to download it!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyBut the situation is not immutable. Linux's share on Steam has been growing, largely thanks to the Steam Deck--but the Linux share on the desktop in general seems to have been growing significantly faster the last year or two; we're apparently up to about 4%. I think something like this could add a couple of percentage points.Oh, don't get me wrong, I reckon you're right. It's just infuriating to always see people saying "I don't like this!" only to then continue to use the offending products, in spite of the existence of alternatives that will suit a huge amount of people just fine and relieve them of that stress. (Life's too short, why would you put yourself through it?)

Quoting: PhiladelphusIt's worth noting that not even Windows users are particularly enthused at the idea, as in this article on PCGamer.I'll be amazed if many will put their money where their mouth is and walk away. It's only gotten as bad as it is now because they never take action about their complaints.

Quoting: pilkIs that Amico thing still happening? I just assumed it was silently canned, or it was never going to come out and was just one of Tommy Tallarico's famous lies. They've released it as a mobile telephone app where you can link other mobile telephones to your mobile telephone to use as controllers, presumably so they can say that they delivered something.
I know the people who pre-ordered the games have them, without the system to play it on.
