Quoting: KlaasIt's interesting that some posters basically said that the breaches are okay because Microsoft had more incidents in the same time span.
It's sad, isn't it?

Quoting: RandomizedKirbyTree47With that said, I don't understand what's so bad about requiring an account? I understand that it makes the game unavailable in regions without PSN, but if you live in a region which does have PSN, what's so bad about logging in to an extra account?
I can only speak to my own distaste for this particular service, here, but Sony's security track-record is particularly awful (and not mentioned in the link is that, if memory serves, at least some of the incidents listed involved sensitive data that was stored in plaintext, which only makes it worse).

Quoting: Purple Library GuyHmmm . . . from the looks of it, they're kind of platformers with combat. Pity. I'm not into platformers, for one thing. But also, seems a bad fit for Asterix and Obelix. I mean, sure, they fight Romans, but fights in Asterix are comedy or denouement, not plot--there is no chance that they will actually lose a fight. Asterix would be better as a point-and-click, with maybe little skippable combat interludes where you can't really lose but you can do picturesque stuff like clobbering with menhirs, picking up legionaries to hit the others with and so forth.
Funnily enough, it was an Asterix platformer for the Master System that got young Pengling into Asterix in the first place. It's not perfect (earlier Master System games often had a tendency to have somewhat unbalanced difficulty, since the company's game-design practises were shifting from arcades to the home, and this one occasionally veers into that territory), but it still holds up pretty well today.

There's a good little review here.

Quoting: CybolicIf you're in the EU, you should be able to get a refund for that Windows tax, if they don't directly offer it without an OS.
I almost attempted that some years ago, but the hoops that you had to jump through to even be considered for a refund were so cumbersome that I didn't bother in the end*. I don't imagine that it's any better now, unfortunately, and it just shouldn't be that way.

*This was an extreeeeeeeemely long time ago so pardon my slightly fuzzy memory, but I seem to recall that, at a minimum, you had to provide photographic proof of the entire process of declining to use Windows and installing something else, as well as proof of purchase and all of the personal details that you'd reasonably expect would be needed to process a refund; I recall that it felt like a hell of a lot to have to give to a company who forced their software onto the product I wanted in the first place. I figured it was one of those cases where they legally have to offer it, but they make it such a pain that most folks won't go for it. Knowing my luck, they probably would've said that it wasn't proof enough, anyway.

Quoting: KlaasThat's not what I meant. It was an expression of shock of recommending a maze game. No one expects that.
Oh! Hahaha! That's the norm with me, honestly - I'm old I'm a fan of the maze-chase genre, so I'm always happy to find modern takes on it.

No…
I don't really know how else to describe it! It does fulfill the traditional requirements to qualify for the maze-chase genre (i.e., your Heiankyo Alien, Pac-Man, and Bomberman types of games) - the environment is a procedurally-generated maze, the enemies are more powerful than the player, and you can find items that grant you a temporary advantage.

Anyway, it's good - give it a try if you're so inclined.

A simple-but-fun little game-jam maze-chase title called Jail Escape - it's surprisingly addictive!

Quoting: CalinouI don't think savegames are compatible, but the IDCLEVXX cheat should work (either by entering it during gameplay, or in the console – or perhaps try "map e1m5" in the console).

For instance, to access E1M5 in Doom 1, use IDCLEV15. In Doom 2, this would access MAP15.
Thanks very much. I guess I'll have to do that, because there's no way in hell that I'm slogging through 20 or so levels out of 32 all over again!

It's so annoying - I get terrible motion-sickness from first-person games, so I have to really take my time going through them. I didn't expect that what I was playing would be replaced with an entirely new version during a playthrough, hahaha!

EDIT: Just a quick update - this "update" doesn't affect the Unity versions if you already have them installed, so thankfully I don't have to start over or hop in and use cheats to return to my current spot!

QuoteNow on the KEX engine.
But I hadn't finished playing through Doom II's Unity port that this has replaced!

Anyone know if I'll have to start over?
