The Capcom Summer 2024 Humble Bundle is another great deal

This is a great bundle, but I do wish that Humble would list DRM info on their pages so that you don't have to hop over to Steam to check for it. Capcom loves the stuff - namely, Denuvo, and, when they remove that they've recently started replacing it with The Enigma Protector (even going back and adding it to very old releases).

QuoteOver to you in the comments: what have you been playing lately?
Battles against computer-controlled players in Super Bomberman R (Proton). The AIs in that game are smarter than the ones in Super Bomberman R 2, so the battle-mode has proven to have longer legs than I expected it to!

QuoteAnd, what are you most excited about picking up soon?
There's nothing on the horizon for me at the moment, unfortunately!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI dunno. I have recent experience suggesting that for at least some people, if you have the menu and "turn it off" stuff in the lower left and a taskbar on the bottom with a few launch icons, they don't really notice the difference.
That's good to know, as your experience is likely to be more recent than mine. Good stuff!

Quoting: pleasereadthemanualUltimately it's their computer and their choice. Let them ask you, if they care at all.
That's exactly it.

Quoting: pleasereadthemanualAnd lastly...Linux is not the solution to Windows problems, so it shouldn't be presented like it is when someone asks for help with their Windows computer.

When should it be presented as an option? When someone is looking for a new computer or wondering if there's something better. They've now demonstrated willingness to uproot their current computing lifestyle and try something new, something few people are brave enough or have enough time to do. You can't convince someone to try something new; they need to be open to it already, and when they are, you're presenting an option, not trying to convince them of something.
Precisely. And it's important to point out that the Linux option isn't Windows, and that things aren't going to act the same, and that the software you'll use won't be the same. I know that sounds like common-sense, but for some reason, though people are fine with adjusting to the differences that MacOS has from Windows, they don't seem to approach Linux like that for some strange reason.

Quoting: Mangojuicedrinker(I never asked/pushed him though, he simply turned the PC on to try it himself and now has a new view on Linux..)
This! It really needs to be underscored how important it is to not push people and/or evangelise about Linux to them - that can so easily create pushback in a lot of people, especially less-tech-inclined types, and it's something they won't soon forget.

Grab a free copy of Drawful 2 now that The Jackbox Megapicker is out

Oh that's neat - claiming Drawful 2 automatically adds The Jackbox Megapicker to your library, so you don't have to grab both.

QuoteAdmittedly a bit late on this, but it's my birthday today so you're forced to forgive me.
Happy Birthday, Liam! Hope you have a good one!

As an aside, as I was alerted to by fellow GOL'er StoneColdSpider, there's also a small set of freebie Points Shop items for this event - an animated avatar-frame, avatar, and chat sticker.

Quoting: KlaasEdit: Found some speculation related to Ganon/Ganondorf: The added village suffix might be used to differentiate between the wild and the village dwelling version.
That's an interesting idea!

It wouldn't apply to the Japanese name of Andross from Star Fox, though - that's "Andorf"... That said, given the flight/war theme of the game, some folks translate that as "Andolf" instead and see the whole thing as a reference to World War II, which actually makes a whole lot of sense.

Quoting: KlaasDorf is German for village.
Oddly, it's also used as a suffix on the names of a couple of Nintendo villains!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyThis is now the third game I've seen mentioned at GoL with "dorf" in the name.
Now we need to found a developer called Dorfsoft, and make a game named Dorfdorf, and have the names of all the key items contain "dorf", to boot.
