Also, it looks like HTTPS is causing the comment box to not work, I have to Chrome Dev Console edit the < form action to include the http://gamingonlinux.com/ URL prefix to post a comment HTTPS is broken.

GLFW, a platform-independent API for developers already supports Vulkan

I err on the side of caution, for example to the inexperienced someone may compare GIMP and Photoshop and they would be right to do so at mere face value, however the differences are infinitesimal.
Sure SDL2 and GLFW are both game libraries, It's been a while since I programmed with SDL however my experience with it felt that it lacked the modularity that I hoped it would have and that events had to be triggered in a much more procedural way than alternatives.
Apples and Pears here. I too hope OP elaborates more from his experience.

Quoting: GuestQuoting: SkullyActually GLFW sux as hard as GFWL. Seen quite a few games suffer problems from using that instead of SDL2.
Care to explain why it "sux"? Considering all GLFW does is open a window and handle a little bit of input, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong with it of note. For what it covers, SDL2 and GLFW are quite comparable.

AMD vs nVidia you say? I'll speak up and say that as a nVidia 9xx user I would love nothing more than buying a AMD 390 and using the open source drivers in my future.
We'll see though, cuz the juice has to be worth the squeeze. My love of rooting for the underdog isn't enough for me to shell out 400-600$ for what could be a medeocre or disappointing gaming experience.

69 cents? That's like 1 or half a round at the arcade.
Take my money, if it's terrible meh. If they make a new one on Linux w00t. If it's sweet awesome. It's a 69 cents gamble.

same problem for me and even with the workaround the xserver keeps crashing after few seconds.
It kind of makes you wonder what Nvidia is running in their internal tests. It would be nice if they shared that kind of information. Anyway, it's great to see them making progress.
