I went through the reviews list and added like 20+ friends so whenever I open the game people come on since they see a popup in their steam.
Storm United FPS major patch released, better Linux performance

The developers optimized particle effects on the latest Linux update.
Storm United is a somewhat CPU intensive game (As are all Unreal Engine 4 games including Ark.)
Eg: My i7-940 is the source of my frame-rate issues drop when paired with my GTX 970. (I turn down post-processing to get a better frame-rate in Ark on my girl's GTX 970 and Skylake it boosted FPS from 30 to 55ish)
I was able to coordinate with a Storm Unitd dev live in game before the update and I think there was some server settings too that effected FPS or perhaps the server has the ability to set settings on clients and he remotely set settings on my machine.
Anyways, All Classes in this new update now have Knives, which I like.
I'm not experiencing the load time issues that Liam is, this update probably took a good 30% off Server Load Times and I haven't crashed yet.
Previously the crashes between maps were caused by the Voting System, and particle effects & performance differ from map to map as some maps are not optimized yet for Linux to the Nth degree.
When I upgrade to Skylake though I'm sure I'll be able to run Storm United at 4k at a decent FPS, I currently downscale to 1080p.
Checkout my Steam Controller Configuration - The Penguin - it's nice :)

The Linux Graphics war still boils down to choosing:
( Option 1 ) Practical, Performant, Stable
( Option 2 ) You like to support the underdog, You prefer FOSS drivers by principal in exchange for performance losses.
Seriously AMD, how hard is it to get the right people behind the helm of the Linux Driver & to get them to kickass at their job?
I've always feared AMD's problems start at the top with Management - I might call it "The Steve Ballmer Effect" where the capabilities of underlings are stifled by the bad decisions & bad micro-management of overlings via bad leadership & bad direction.
AMD needs to learn to value Practicality and Functionality and stop chasing the wind, I dont care if my card is 8GB if it can only use 3GB.

My girl plays Ark as her chillout from work game.
I seem to be buying games & playing little coz work, but its nice to have a selection.
Picked up Road Redemption & a Steam Controller, RR seems like N64ish.
Storm United is my #1 game of interest right now with Steam Controller or Xbox 360 Controller.

Yeah it's annoying Valve doesn't have a "New Releases" list on my Platform - SteamOS/Linux.
I regularly surf through the New Releases Tab and the SteamOS tab and am like what is this?

Maybe they need a gnu plan

Quoting: Purple Library GuyUnfortunately, that isn't a sales strategy or Gnu/Linux would rule the desktop.
And yes, I put the "Gnu" part in there to underline the point.
Maybe they need a gnu plan

AAA Games on Linux? A temporary problem, the snowball is rolling downhill and picking up steam.
Once certain games and benchmarks start outperforming their Windows Counterparts it'll draw in the Windows crowd.
Until then, the PS4 and XBONE crowd can be the main people in the snowball.
Also, from reading the Steam Forums it sems some people out really equate More $$$ to More Better, so by a Console Gamers logic Steam Machines are #1 because they cost so much (Apple logic XD.)

Unity Editor Updated For Linux, Now Much More Up To Date

@SilverCode - My view is bit different, UE4 can sure munch and crunch complex polygons, for raw power purposes I find myself loving UE4 based games.
On the other hand Unity games like Road Redemption feel like the performance takes a incredible hit and the textures feel Game-cube-ish/Wii-ish (Yeah I know its 1 game.)
At the end of the day I imagine Unity is infinitesimally easier to program, prototype and combine things for small development teams.
Still, knowing a game is UE4 puts like 5 gold stars on it for me. My expectations are elevated.

It's not that hard when it comes to Early Access games like Road Redemption.
Here are the choices:
1 ) Take it
2 ) Leave it
At $20 to be part of the development and get a 50% -75% finished product the choice is up to each of us individually.
