If only they would fix the saves being spaced out wrong around 20 hours in.
I cant believe the map was designed on paper and never reworked. Running back and forth is such a waste of time never part of Super Metroid series due to tge elevators and proper map spacing of saves. Buying maps is lame too.

Another metric I would be interested in is calculating sales numbers vs total linux steam gamers, to know what percent of the market bought.

I disagree with that first statement. Grossly oversimplifying the past 6 years of hundreds of thousands of people's efforts to make linux emerge as a gaming platform was not luck.
If you recall, Microsoft made poor decisions with Windows 8 which caused Gabe Newell to become distressed and invest in Linux to secure Valve's future. Also people like Liam Dawe have spent thousands of hours writing articles and spearheading the news efforts of gaming on Linux. And finally others have spent countless hours improving MESA, convincing game developers we're worth it, and buying and playing, and creating Linux Steam Groups, etc...
I'm sorry I just really resent calling all of our collective efforts "Luck", It wasn't easy for me to convince Black Mesa devs and other game devs that Linux is worth the time. It took a lot of calculated and reasonable conversations which lasted for days and days each.
I'm not mad I just hope that that sediment that "we're lucky" dies. Cold hard investment of money, time, resources, etc... has made gaming on Linux what it is today.
Additionally, Ark is on Linux because Unreal Engine is on Linux because Unreal devs were also concerned about Windows 8 invasion of privacy and locking down apps to Windows Store & Microsoft Signature Required to distribute and install. Again - not luck at all.
( I used to spend hours a day for probably 4+ years on the linux & gaming community, I fundamentally believe that open source is required for the prosperity of the future and a world without it would be a very sad and terrible place. )

Fantastic News. There are a lot of CryEngine games I would throw money at if they landed on SteamOS for my gaming rig, Vulkan support is very welcome, glad to see them stepping their game up.

Great work, I noticed on 1600x1200 that moving the cursor to the right doesnt pane. Maybe paning is confined to 16:9 monitors.
In any case one cool thing i can see is viewing the park at 4k high res.
It was a bit confusing fighuring out where to extract the assets too also -- usage would increase if the task coul be automated im sure like
- import from wine
- import from cd
- import from windows drive
It seemed logical to me to store the data files in ~/.local/share/OpenRCT2

I cannot comment on what's the experience like when running vanilla with Wine (OpenRCT2 also works with Wine), because I never bothered. I do develop OpenRCT2, though, and can name some of the improvements:
* support for any resolution you may have with resizeable window and borderless fullscreen
* performance improvements
* multiplayer
* many tools for easier advanced building.
These are just a few of the items that we have, but hopefully that should be enough to get you to try it out and decide for yourself. I'm actually a bit surprised, writing your post probably took you more effort than giving OpenRCT2 a try and answering all the questions you may have.

So in other words this means that RADV driver is 72.4% conforming to the rendering test in the same way that browsers conform to ACID2 and ACID3 test to test their rendering capabilities?

If Nvidia wants to compete to win me back - open source drivers are the only possibility.
I must have spent about $1,500 on GPUs in the last couple years GTX 290, GTX 460, GTX 650, GTX 750 Ti SC, GTX 970 SSC x 2, RX 480.
Nvidia is going to take a lot of action before I consider them a viable alternative and competitive.
MESA 17 on Polaris is pretty damn good, they're late to the party and behind track.
So @nvidia - you wan't my money? Come get it out of my wallet - get the work done on a fully open source driver and make it outperform AMD in gaming on Linux - that is what it will take to get me and my 15 Linux Workstations back to the green side.
Make no such action and all our Steam Boxes will definitely be AMD. No tricks, just a straight up fact about the future.
(Oh, and also I refuse to ever own another nVidia Laptop until/unless the driver is open source and performs well, I'm looking forward to Polaris APU - I hear it's gonna kick-ass and not only that it'll cost less in laptop form so that's nice too).
