3D adventure thriller 'Beyond a Steel Sky' is out now for Linux PC

I thought it was coming out tomorrow, and I'm just about to watch a football match. I guess I'll have to stay up late tonight.

EDIT: It seems like the additional 10% discount is only applied if you bought Broken Sword 5 from Steam, and not if you got a key for backing the Kickstarter campaign. I'm not sure if that's working as intended or not, but for me it's totally worth it anyway for a game I've been wanting to play for years.

Steam Labs hits 1 year, Community Recommendations launches

QuoteThey've now announced that Community Recommendations has officially shipped as part of Steam, giving you ideas to play based on recent reviews. I was told by Valve press on this, that it should be getting patched to respect your Platform Preferences (bottom here) to only show games from operating systems ticked.

I just tried it and I had only recommendations that actually are available for Linux.

I also only get Linux recommendations in the community recommendations list. The more interesting interactive recommender, however, still shows me a a ton of Windows games though.

Quoting: fleskWasn't Hello Neighbor supposed to get a native Linux version at some point?
Not that we've ever written about, we did contact them before on it and Secret Neighbor but we got a no to both of them with the line of "if we do Linux, there will be an announcement". Originally, Hello Neighbor had a crowdfunding campaign which mentioned Linux but it failed hard sadly so it looks like Linux and Mac were cut when they didn't get funding and then tinyBuild picked it up later.

Thanks for the information. Turns out that's what I was thinking of, as I found out we covered it in The Funding Crowd #52 and #53.

Can't wait! I have the whole month off from work, so hopefully I get to play through both this and Desperados III (depending on when that's out).

Bounty Battle the 'ultimate indie fighting game' releasing July 23

Wow, Tetrobot is in it! I wonder why he doesn't have the drill though, as that would probably be pretty handy in a fight. I'm guessing Psychobot will be his minion, although he's supposed to be microscopic, so that might not be very spectator friendly.

What have you been playing recently and what's your pick this weekend?

I've been completely obsessed with Shadow Tactics lately, and have just gotten to that heart wrenching moment towards the end of the game. Totally didn't expect that from a game like this, and I'm really looking forward to picking up Desperados III once it's available for Linux.

This demo is a lot of fun, and the mechanics feel super smooth with a gamepad.

I played a few levels of the demo yesterday, and I thought it was very good. Definitely going to buy it once the full game is available.

Bonfire Peaks also looks very interesting, and I thought it was going to have a Linux demo, but maybe that's just the full game.

I was also hoping to play A Monster's Expedition, but it seems like there was some issues with the demo (didn't work when I tried it), so I don't know if that will be available for us.

Quoting: GuestAllegro, ouch… They should have used SDL2. I’ve had very bad experiences with games using Allegro.

Were those games all AGS games, or are there other well known games that use Allegro? There definitely are some issues with most AGS games I've played, but I wouldn't know if that was because of Allegro or something else. I know they started talking about migrating to Allegro 5 a few years ago, but I don't know if that ever happened, or if it fixed anything.
