Duck Game gets a patch for Proton, now works on Steam Deck

Quoting: scaineIt's great to see so many otherwise disinterested game devs making an effort to be SteamDeck (or even just Proton) compatible.

For sure. It just bums me out when they rather jump through hoops to make it work with Proton than make a native port with FNA.

Agreed. I bought it last week, and I'm loving it.

What does that mean? It doesn't appear to have a native Linux version.

Looks like a must-buy for me. Not sure whether to buy it now, or to wait until the the sale is over though. On the one hand, I'd gladly pay full price for proper Linux support. But on the other, buying when it's discounted probably helps push it up on various popularity lists, which might be good for discoverability and generate additional sales. ...on the third hand, I want to play it now.

According to a Wayback Machine snapshot from 2021-02-02, the Linux version on Itch was untested, which might explain why they decided against releasing it on Steam. If they release a native Linux version in the future though, I'll buy it.

Quoting: rcritLooks pretty good for what I think is an Electron app.

I didn't poke very hard but I don't see bundles anywhere. Like on their web page, bundle items are hidden until you download them "in order to avoid flooding your library." But bundles don't seem to be available at all in the app, just the games already downloaded.

If I remember correctly, you can paste https://itch.io/my-purchases/bundles into the address bar of the Itch client, and navigate from there to download games from your purchased bundles.

It's been a while since I've played an AGS game, and it seems like the engine has improved considerably over the last couple of years? Fullscreen seems to just work with sensible resolution, Alt+Tab works, and Steam achievements aren't as hit and miss as I remember them being.
I enjoyed the game a lot, and it was nice to finally be able to complete the Blackwell saga.

Great to see them giving their back catalogue some Linux love. I bought this in addition to Blackwell Epiphany just before the weekend, thanks to the new ports, and I enjoyed playing through Epiphany a lot. I realize this one isn't really my cup of tea, after playing about an hour of it, since I don't care much for choices in adventure games, but I'm enjoying it so far, nevertheless.

Showing your age (and possibly your Britishness) there!

Genuinely not sure if "you wouldn't steal a car" was shown outside of British cinemas?

Edit - so, uh, it wasn't shown on cinemas, it was DVDs mainly that featured this tripe. Early 2000's though, so at least I had that right.

I remember this from DVDs in Norway too. Futurama also made a fun spoof of the campaign:
