"a first-person parkour game about exploration, forgotten worlds, and secrets"

Yes, please! :)

Sorry about the double post, but have they indicated anywhere whether the beta will be on all platforms?

I asked them about it, and they replied that they plan a first round of beta testing with Windows only, and then a second round, which will include Linux and Mac. If all goes according to plan, they should start beta testing this coming spring.

Puzzle Platformer 'Adventures of Shuggy' Released For Linux On Steam
2 November 2015 at 10:50 pm UTC

I've made a small update to the article to mention that a DRM free version is now available via the Humble Widget on the developer's website.

Quoting: pbThis game is pretty sweet. Expected "just" a platformer but got a decent platforming puzzler. Be sure to also play Gateways by the same dev!

Gateways is a much better game in my opinion, but I'm enjoying Shuggy too, and I've played well over 3 hours of it already.

Quoting: muntdefemsExcellent choice of games! I think I'll back a couple of them.

Also, I love the new "quick fact" bullet points, they provide essential information at a glance, in a far more efficient way than before. We should have implemented a long time ago... :P

Thanks for the feedback. :) The reason why we decided to go with the bullet points is because it's much easier to type up than a second paragraph, and it gets the same information across. Happy to hear that it works from a reader's perspective too. :)

I just realized that we forgot several games in the "What Happened?" section. :S:

* The Journey Down was funded with an impressive kr 409k SEK total.
* Sol Trader barely reached their £10k and was funded.
* We quoted Haque developer Kevin Cole in this article, but forgot to mention that his game was funded.
* And finally, Top Secret was also funded.

We also briefly mentioned a few other projects, but I don't think we'll make a habit of posting updates for those. With the exception of life-sim RPG Rite of Life, none of them were funded.

The Linux Version Of Moebius: Empire Rising Hasn't Been Forgotten
1 November 2015 at 8:17 am UTC

I played through the Linux beta and didn't encounter any game breaking issues, but I think it's good that they're taking their time with the port. If they're able to iron out some of the most jarring issues that are also known in the Windows and Mac versions, I think that will make the game a much more enjoyable experience on Linux.

Quoting: subi84Lumino City coming to linux ?

It was supposed to, but I think I read that it's been delayed indefinitely because of technical difficulties.

Quoting: KelsI hear Hack 'n' Slash has a hell of a difficulty spike at the half-way point, anyone know if that's true?

Yeah, that's how I remember it too. The second half is where the hacking mechanics really shine though, so if you enjoy those and have a head for programming, that part is great. Otherwise, that's probably where you give up on the game.

Nice. I will definitely get this when I manage to knock a few games off my backlog.

Correction: ASTRONEER The Beautiful Sandbox Game Might Come To Linux
19 October 2015 at 10:08 am UTC

I don't really mind that developers say PC instead of Windows, as long as it's clear from context what they mean. I do find it a bit odd that these developers submitted their press release to a Linux games site when a Linux version isn't certain though. Their game looks very interesting though, and I hope they end up making it available for us to play.

Valve Looks Like It's Removed The SteamOS Icon For Games That Work On Linux, But Not Perfectly On SteamOS
16 October 2015 at 6:11 pm UTC

Quoting: BTRETicket to Ride has had its SteamOS/Linux Icon removed. That's a game that works with Java.

I never actually got that to work with the Steam client on Ubuntu either, and had to run it outside of Steam.

The Inner World is also Java and was ported as part of a HIB in March I think. It doesn't have a SteamOS icon now, but I don't remember if it ever had one since cutscenes still didn't work the last time I checked.

Quoting: fleskAnodyne and Lume have also had their SteamOS icons removed. Sokobond, Blueberry Garden and NEO Scavenger still have their icons though, so it's not all Adobe AIR games. At least not yet.

Blueberry Garden uses XNA/FNA now, so that's why it still has the SteamOS icon. Not sure about Sokobond and NEO Scavenger though.

Ah, now that you mention it, I think I saw a tweet about that a while back; possibly from flibitijibibo. I'm pretty sure Sokobond is still Flash though, since Alan Hazelden has said it would be too much work to do anything about it. He used Haxe for his last game though. I don't know about NEO Scavenger, but I can check both later.
