Steam Hardware Survey For July 2014, Linux Dips
5 August 2014 at 8:48 pm UTC
Ugh, the exact same thing happened to me just now. :/ Hadn't seen the survey for months before that.

Quoting: neowiz73the survey popped up when I had just installed Steam on Wine to see if I could get certain games to run on wine again. So I refused it, then restarted my Linux install and I haven't received the survey at all again. I'm mainly using Linux Mint, was using Manjaro for the past month though... distro hopping is so much fun.

Steam Now Has Over 600 Linux Games

I don't know. Maybe to speed up the process or out of convenience? They started talking about it over a year ago and so far only Gemini Rue and The Shivah are available I think. Wadjet Eye are just Dave Gilbert and his wife so it might be that they've just been to busy working on the latest Blackwell game to consider it.

I learned yesterday that the original Blackwell trilogy from Wadjet Eye has been ported to Linux by a contracted third-party and is currently being tested, so that's also something I'm looking forward to.

I'm looking forward to that too, since I backed the Kickstarter. I think it read that it's an issue with the player used for the FMVs that's holding it back. I also backed Moebius, but I'm half dreading that one, since the reviews have been rather mixed, to put it mildly.
Me too and it feels like a big deal that the biggest developer making point and click games with Visionaire released their most popular franchise such a short time after the engine started supporting Linux, since it will hopefully lead to other games using Visionaire getting Linux versions.
Of upcoming Linux games, some of the games I'm most excited about right now are Broken Age, Act II, the remaining two parts of The Fall, Super Win The Game, A Hat in Time, The Journey Down, Chapter Two and the Grim Fandango remake (though I've played the original).

Quoting: DrMcCoyIn terms of games already released on Windows, I'm still waiting for Tex Murphy: Tesla Effect

Quoting: Segata SanshiroSame could be said about Deponia, but a bit more excited for that because it meant that some of their other games I haven't played may get ported.

That's pretty awesome. :-)
It's hard to pick just one, but Full Bore, MouseCraft, You Have To Win The Game, The Fall, The Last Tinker and Broken Age have been among my favorites. Probably Full Bore if I was forced to make a choice.

I played the Linux beta of Sproggiwood and it's a pretty nice casual RPG with randomly generated dungeons and lots of humor.
Micron Rhythm Puzzle Game Now On Steam For Linux

I've put a few hours into Micron and I really like it so far. It's very simple gameplay wise, but as you say offers a real challenge once you get a bit into it. The developer is also very responsive and added (admittedly extremely basic) keyboard controls when I asked about it on the Steam forums.
There has really been a ton of new and good puzzle games being added on Steam this year, with games like Blocks That Matter (new to Linux), Full Bore, MouseCraft, Hexcells, LYNE and Micron being among my favorites.

I also really liked that one. Not among my favourites though, but still a very enjoyable game.
This month I've mostly been playing MouseCraft since it came out of Early Access. It still has some Linux issues, but is playable and is a great puzzle game. Half of the fun is in finding solutions that are better than the intended perfect solutions.

Quoting: AstroThe Last Tinker: City of Colors is something incredibly amazing and infinitely charming. It's not even 5/5, it's 100/100. Probably it's the best game I've ever played in my entire life.

I decided to get it yesterday after it accidentally released a day early and after having a quick chat with Cheeseness about it. Looks really interesting. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play through it tonight.
