The Linux port of Batman Arkham Knight was made by Feral... and they, not Warner, cancelled the game.

We should keep in mind that the Windows port of Batman Arkham Knight is aweful at best. Feral probably couldn't bring the game to a decent performance level on Linux.

If you consider the usual performance hit that comes from converting DX to OGL... I would have made de same decision. Not going to blame Feral on this one.

For me it should be treated as the exception that proves the rule...

Totally somewhere else... The already proposed games would all blow my mind but I'd say Lego games. This would make SteamOS/Steam Machine/Linux a great family Platform.

Not that it is but there was such a wave of Linux releases lately and the radar was so crowded, back then, that looking at it, atm, gives you this feeling.

It feels like the day after Christmas. ;)

I don't know if a typical console user who buys a Steam Machine knows about GamingonLinux. The usual reader is really desktop oriented here and, thus, not really prone to use SteamOS. Anyway it's not like if Steam Machines have taken over the console world either... It's just that the survey here might underrate the real SteamOS adoption because we are not the "targeted audience".

Totally speculative, but if 1 out of 5 Steam controllers is sold with a Steam Machine it's still 100 000 Steam Machines (as per original Valve 500 000 sold Steam Controllers info). 100 000 Steam Machines for ±1million Linux users it's still .1%.

I might over calculate Steam Machines impact though...

Having one left joystick is a huge disappointment for FPS gaming. It fails as a FPS console controller to provide equal utility to my 15 years of playing FPS skill. The bumpers are awesome. And nobody is mentionning the Steam Controller's gyroscope that's awesome for precise aiming while in sniper mode or middle to long range shots (it acts like a mouse dps reducer). I use it too in Grid Autosports so that it plays the role of a Steering wheel. It needs a little tweaking but the experience is great too.

Wow! This port rocks! I play it at High (no ultra after Very High?) on my i7-2600 with my gtx960 and it's graphically awesome! The game runs flawlessly.

Even if there is no benchmark to back it, I prefer not to know, it could alter my judgment. ;)

Anyway, I never max out graphics settings. I usually see little gain for a High performance hit. It's great for screen shots and still frames, but useless when you're getting fired at running through like a mad... Max? :)

But it's just my point of view.

Keep doing your awesome work Feral! I might decide too send you cupcakes too! Lol!

Not going to argue with you, a full priced GTX960 4gb is just too expensive (got mine for 220$, btw), but I was explicitely referring to Linux performances. I'd probably be using an AMD gpu still if it wasn't for the fact that AMD/ATI had problems with Linux when I converted myself to Linux. In my other life, I was using an ATI EAH-4670 512mb and it rocked! Couldn't say the same on Linux, unfortunately. After that, and I'm probably not the only one, I became hesitant to return to AMD.
