Quoting: Salvatos> you usually only get the survey on one machine.
Not in my experience. I had it on two different desktops one week apart just last spring and I've had it on my laptop as well.

Got it on my Steam Deck, my laptop and my PC, this month. I decided to distro hop on my PCs and it triggered the survey for each fresh install (wasn't a fresh install for my Steam Deck).

The only thing I would like to see is Wayland support for my GTX980m laptop so that I may run the gamescope-session on my Manjaro setup... Unfortunately, I doubt it will ever happen.

I stopped reading here due to all that capitalization.

I haven't got problems with the sticks either, but then, joystick feel like something gone for good in the early Nineties to me. ;)

That's what I was asking: Is there a glaring issue with the OEM sticks that I'm not aware off, like the Nintendo Switch? Personally, I'm not going to mess with my Steam Deck, if it's not broken. I would like a 1tb nvme upgrade and I'm hesitant for the same reason.

That's one thing I would like to see in a Steam Deck2: an easy way to swap the storage, without taking it apart.

Are the Steam Deck's original thumbsticks an issue? Personally I have no reason to change them, but I might just be lucky...

Quoting: MohandevirLord of the Rings Online... On the Steam Deck... Why? Because I can. It's playable. The maps are a little on the small side, some parts are hard to read and you need to get used to the button mappings. No need of the touchscreen, if you don't want to. I wouldn't use it as a daily driver, but as a backup plan, it's better than I thought.

You sir just made me go and download LOTRO to play it again after... maybe 10 years. I need to create an account since my old one is probably lost, but knowing that it works on Steam Deck... I need to go back now. Thank you.

Sorry... I guess?

But it's similar to me. My main toon was stuck at level 88, at the bridge leading to Edoras, after the Riders of Rohan expansion. Lol!

Since then, they unlocked all contents up to Gondor, I believe.

You get the notification and then you can go into Notifications to confirm that you're OK with being included in the survey.

Did just that, but couldn't find anything related to the survey... Ok... Better luck next time, I guess. Thanks!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyAnd yet the point stands--in a random sampling of machines, a machine used full time has twice the chance of being polled as a machine used half of the time.
The machine just needs to be logged into Steam during the month that's at least a year since the last time it was surveyed.

The Deck does come with a (random?) delay "SurveyDateSteamDeckDelay" before it gets included in the survey - I had my Deck nine or ten months before it got the survey popup. I expect that Valve don't want everyone's unboxing experience to be full of "would you like to fill out this survey?" spam.

Quoting: Mohandevir1 940 000 x 25.32%... 500k Steam Decks? Where are the others? Didn't Valve sold over one million units already (Projected 3 millions by the end of the year)?

Did Steam grew 3X since that 132millions? I doubt that...
It’s daily active, not overall numbers and as the article notes even that number is a year old.

Aaah! Thank you for correcting me. Missed that nuance.

Edit: 132 millions of monthly active users... Wow! I thought that number was the number of active accounts.

Prior to this, I finished a Ori and the Will of the Wisps run. Great game! I had quite a blast. I tried RDR2, but even though I recognize the quality of the game, I can't seem to get the hang of it... Probably my ADD. Else, I dusted off some Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor and Mad Max. All on the Steam Deck or on my desktop via the Steam Link app on my Nvidia Shield.
Ha, I spent the effort trying to get D&D Online to work on the Steam Deck, but the controls are definitely intended to be with keyboard and mouse.

Elder Scrolls Online wirks pretty well on it though! I also keep meaning to try Star Trek Online on it.

Aaaah! D&D Online... Got fond memories of this one too. The combat system is a thing of it's own and pretty awesome. Unfortunately the quest system was often a show stopper, for me, when it came to the longer quests that I didn't have enough playtime to finish.
