Zelda-inspired dungeon maker 'Quest Master' arrives May 29th with a new demo live

im sure this will be a lot of fun, but what i like the most about zelda, was that i saw a lot of things for the first time on it.
the issue with playing the second zelda game is that most of the things are repeated, only a few new itens and puzzles.
and in the case of an maker this problem only get worse, each custom made level will remind me again and again that this is not the reason why i like this type of game, i hope people can find an way to create unique puzzles despite the limitations of the tool.

With a Nintendo Switch 2 on the way, I hope Valve make a Steam Deck 2

Quoting: grigiThe 8 year cadence of the switch is too long as it has definitely been losing developer interest in the last two years as it's too weak to support on multiplatform releases anymore.
because those developers are developing for switch 2...
i mean look at how many units switch 1 sold, do you really think anyone would be crazy to not relase their games for switch 2?

Quoting: grigi* 6-8 cores (no need to go above 8) that's very power optimized
afaik, runing 1 core at 4ghz consume way more power than 2 cores at 2 ghz, so maybe increasing the ammount of cores might be a good idea

Quoting: emphyWhatsup with that? Does the pachislot machine happen to be a place where one can gamble away real money, either directly or via in-game fantasy currency?
i think they want to make sure that people who want to gamble spend on real gamble.

NVIDIA make it easier to get GeForce NOW on Steam Deck

Quoting: elmapulits good to see that big companies are starting to support linux thanks to the steam deck, but lets be honest, this is the bare minimum, GFN already worked it was just a matter of then making it official, and the fact that it took so long...

If they want to make it official, then they should make a client like they do with Windows and Mac so that we don't have to use a browser. Otherwise, this is no better than what Microsoft does when they tell you how to play Xcloud on the Steam Deck.

what is the difference? afaik their client is just an chromium/electron anyway

Microsoft open sources MS-DOS 4.0

Quoting: elmapuli bet they did that because wine/dosbox already can run 100% of dos 4.0 games/softwares, so it would be useless to keep this codebase proprietary anyway and by open sourcing it they create an good image for thenselves.

And if DOSBox wouldn't run the games? They'd sell MSDOS 4.0?

if dosbox cant run, probably the game was made for MSDOS 5.0, 6.0 or something like that.

that is exactly what im saying, if the full scope of an tech is already supported by an open source alternative, there is no reason to keep the secret an secret anymore.
