loved their transparency, i hope at least one other developer that planing to use game maker studio change its mind with that news (very unlikely they're reading this, but who knows?)
"Perhaps one of our lovely porters like Icculus, Ethan Lee, Knockout Games or someone else could arrange a port."
the issue is, the thing that should be "arranged" is game maker in order to fix this, so he will need the source code of both.
that is a quite strange game, i dont see my self buying it, but their transparency makes me want to support then if the game runs on wine.

Quoting: liamdaweQuoting: elmapulits valve reminding us again that they dont give a shit about the steam machines, but do give about the steam machine killer...Now now, while no one may really know what they're doing with them, this has nothing to do with Steam Machines. Apart from the obvious, Valve don't control vendors pricing on their systems.

no one said that was the game selected from the pool.
if you see their page they have an radar of future ports, but they dont disclose their names.
maybe that was one of the mysterious signs on the radar?

Quoting: KimyrielleSo they managed to port the game more or less overnight after asking if people wanted? Including securing permissions?
That or they decided to port that game LOOOOOOONG before asking in public.
What's more likely?

godot? blender?
and its not software but the copyleft pepper and carrot comic, made with open source software. (fund an case of sucess sometimes is better than the product itself)

Quoting: NodForgetting about the games for a moment, lets take a second to reflect how great it is that the community is funding Ryan to work on useful stuff that benefits us all (Linux gamers) directly. A good example is the fact Ryan has been able to work on https://icculus.org/physfs/ full time for the last month or so because of patreon funders.
I got more interested in the patreon model a few weeks back when I read these articles [1] [2]. Consequently I went looking for people I though worth funding, heres what I found:
Open Source Gaming:
* https://www.patreon.com/icculus
* https://www.patreon.com/flibitijibibo
* https://www.patreon.com/Cheeseness
* https://www.patreon.com/liamdawe
* https://www.patreon.com/openfl
* https://www.patreon.com/kozec
Open Source
* https://www.patreon.com/joeyh
I'm sure I missed some, if you know of other interesting people or projects in the open source gaming space please post them in the comments.

"Another fighting game would be great. He could either port Street Fighter 5 (which was supposed to come out for Linux a long time ago) or Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2 (works quite well with Wine and uses OpenGL so it shouldn't be too hard) or KOF XIV which uses SDL already. "
