Nvidia release Linux beta driver with Vulkan
16 February 2016 at 8:23 pm UTC

I was under the impression that initially the vulkan driver from AMD was going to be under the Catalyst(fglrx) driver.

AMDGPU don't support below the 300 series yet that I know of. :(

Interesting times ahead for sure!

I just hope it's not a jam in type port as vulkan will supposedly require devs to be a lot more through with it been a low level api .

Also hope they've tested AMD gpu's too

You'll can buy it on the Feral store, then play it under windows :p
Why buy it on Feral store, to reward their bad decisions? They should feel the sting of their incompetence.
Or maybe you should buy an Nvidia card to punish AMD? Feral doesn't write AMD's drivers, so there's no point punishing Feral for something that is out of their control.

Yea, because NV's oss drivers/contributions are sooooo superior

It's all ready a problem, Look at DX12. it's already been fragmented. for some reason they have 3 levels of dx12 support. Seriously ! its been released less than a year! You just had Tom clancy's the division released with dx12.1 support. Guess what , 12.1 don't include the asyc-shaders bit , shocker... Who's it sponsored by! Odd that considering it's the "Asynchronous" side where the perf comes from and what both sides have been touting as that is what allows the consoles with weak gpu's to perform so well.

It's this type of thing which is worrying me regards Vulkan. Is it going to end up been tailored for 1 gpu manufacture ?

Time will tell I guess

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionARK: Survival Evolved devs have also expressed interest in a Vulkan update once UE4 supports it. The Windows build is getting DX12 in a few weeks so it would be nice to keep pace.

Its been getting dx12 in 2 weeks since win10 was released...

Never happen as it's a nv sponsored title so I don't hold out hope for vulkan any time soon.

Quoting: pete910So I agree with the census here, their excuse is BS, every other unreal powered game has not only run fine but well too!

Now now, no need to throw insults around. They are having issues with their game, the UE comment was clearly my own.

There want an insult thrown, though I admit I miss read it and read as they said UE4 has a ways to go.

I Apologies to the devs/forum members !
