Quoting: pete910Seem to be takin note of us nixers at least. The last 2 driver releases have improved perf some what for me. So looking forward to it.

Quoting: calexilMaybe Bioshock Infinite wont run like ass anymore?

Also, stoked about Alien: Isolation coming to Linux!!

What card may I ask? Runs well on the 290x I have.

Also nice confirmation on Alien:iso Been waiting for that for a while. :D

Define well? I have one (well two but the second one is useless in Linux) and it runs like crap. And when I say crap I mean 30-40 for a game that should run at about 90fps at least.

I get 80's + @ 1440p with the 15.5's . Magiea 5 64bit. Not played it for a while mind. I'll try it and check now you've said that

Does Metro/borderlands run ok for you?

Edit: mmm your right, mines on High and its bouncing between 40's up to the 100's :S:

Never been a "controller" fan. But this does look an interesting take on them. I especially liked the 2 stage trigger that he explained.

Handy for me as I could have my other hand/fingers on the running away key :P

Nvidia Video From SIGGRAPH Talks About Vulkan
2 September 2015 at 7:49 pm UTC

Quoting: mr-eggNvidia would be wise to push advertising on Vulkan given their DX12 performance is low due to missing async compute. Thats millions of cards with lower DX12 performance than AMD for at least a year and the existing customer base.

Where as, flip a coin nvidia could be smiling with miles better SteamOS / Linux drivers for Vulkan and of course existing driver quality with OpenGL

Yes but after some digging and looking through some initial slides for Vulkan it's used the same way.

I also fear that vulkan will go the same way as Opengl has. Devs code for one manufactures addons/extras and forget the rest

Arma 3 Available For Linux In A Beta
31 August 2015 at 8:04 pm UTC

Quoting: SamsaiThe game works on AMD with Catalyst 15.3. 15.7 is still not working on Ubuntu 15.04 so I was not able to test on that. Performance is low-ish at around 30 on medium graphical details and going higher than that will result in the grass turning blue. The game requires GL4.1 minimum so I was not able to run tests on Mesa.

What card?

try 15.5's?

The 15.5's and 7's is where i'd seen big improvements with my 290x
