Well, then! It turns out that the game's launcher (and presumably the game, itself) is already running on Linux!

These guys actually allow new people in, so long as they are able to commit the time and effort. All you have to do is show them your work, and ask to help. If they like your work, they'll let you in.

Quoting: M@yeulCVery nice to see such a project. I had heard about one using the source engine, but this one looks promising.
I would be willing to help, if that's not a completely closed project.
I still remember my Halo CD key! The Halo universe isn't amazing, by today's standards, but it was one of the most coherent and realistic ones at the time. And the gameplay was pretty revolutionary as well.

Civilization VI released for Linux, video and port report (updated)

They really don't have a lot of say so. A lot of the time, the companies and studios that own and/or worked on the game are what actually holds back the releases, as they beat about the bush on a decision on whether or not to let a porting house port their game to another platform.

Quoting: SaladienGreat,
But I think the price is quite high for such an old game. Within one month of the release on the original platform I would be willing to pay this price. But now Hmm at least 50% should be it.
Hopefully Feral and Aspyr will learn in the future that they should release within one month of the original release or they will practically lose money. Atleast in my understanding.
Greetings

The problem is that would require putting money toward the Windows version. That, in turn, damages the Linux gaming ecosystem, albeit in a small way. But a lot of smaller things add up to much bigger things.

Quoting: AryvandaarQuoting: Luke_NukemI would trade this a thousand times over for a naive Doom 4 port, with Vulkan...

You can run DOOM in WINE almost perfectly with Vulkan enabled in steam launch options.

You might try Insurgency or Ballistic Overkill. They're really good. As for that DOOM itch, I find that Shadow Warrior 2013 does a pretty good job.

Not to be rude, Liam, but that first question should be "How do you think SteamOS has done and what are your plans for SteamOS' future?".
