Quoting: Fully_BuggedHappy New Year everyone! You rock! Going to reserve some time to play a few rounds!
One of our last message about **Boohablox - Arcade** here, (for we are pretty much done with this arcade version now).
https://fully-bugged.itch.io/boohablox/devlog/658792/update-version-110
We release this 1.1.0 version, with mostly a new mode we called PRO. This mode is more rewarding in terms of points, but harder for most common players like me. It allows the normal mode (by default) to be more permissive and fun too.
Thx again for this first article, allowing many Linux players to try the game. Let's hope many more players will play (and enjoy) it in the future ;).
Cheers !

PipeWire 1.0 is out now for modern Audio and Video on Linux

That's a perfectly valid use case.

Quoting: sonic2kkMy main experience with PipeWire is likely extremely insulting to what a lot of people use it for, but I switched over to it on a whim because some older native Linux games required ALSA, and I had read it was better to use PipeWire as a drop-in ALSA replacement, so I just went ahead and switched fully over to PipeWire because it gave me a much more hassle-free way to have ALSA and PulseAudio support. It was just a case of switching the packages over and installing the relevant package on Arch.
Maybe the fact that I was able to just switch over to PipeWire, and install its ALSA extension to get older native games to play audio, without noticing any difference, is a selling point to PipeWire?
Either way, the way audio plugins work on any OS is a mystery to me. But PipeWire seems to get a lot of praise as a way to facilitate proper multimedia for sandboxed application distribution, allowing an interface for audio and video sharing agnostic of X11/Wayland/XWayland (i.e. for the likes of browsers and web apps and Electron apps to allow video and screen sharing with audio too), and allowing a much more cohesive Linux Desktop audio experience with virtually no disruption to the desktop users, who may not even know they're using PipeWire.
I don't fully understand what PipeWire is or the nitty-gritty benefits but I can't say I've had any regrets about switching over to it, nor have I noticed anything working differently -- Aside from it being seamless to fix that ALSA issue.
That's a perfectly valid use case.

Okay, so there will be a more Tetris Attack type experience, but even better? Okay!

Quoting: Fully_BuggedQuoting: D34VA_Are there plans to add more music/stages?Yes and No
No - because This version is pretty much done, polished and working well.
but Yes - Because it's actually our goal to do a more complete and deeper version with even more content (game mode, bonus, story, GFX, musics...), but it will not be the "Arcade" version then, and it's more for in few months with everything to start to create yet.

It plays really well, overall! I do have a small gripe with the menu accept being different from the swap button, but other than that, it's a solid Tetris Attack clone on a mechanical level.
Are there plans to add more music/stages?

Quoting: Fully_BuggedQuoting: D34VA_I played a lot of Tetris Attack for the SNES back in the 1990s. This is right up my alley!
We hoped you had a chance to try it and that you liked it. :)
On our side, We should propose a new very small update soon with minor rare bugs and small improvements.

Quoting: PenglingQuoting: hardpenguinAlso, I prefer to have a LCD option as long as its cheaper. I went for the cheapest option with my current Steam Deck since SD storage is all I need.I must admit, I've yet to see an LCD option that isn't cheaper. Which is good, of course.
Quoting: constPersonally, I think this is good for all of us, as this update should help keep our Decks relevant. These updates will keep the Deck competetive against ROG, Legion, etc. and the stable baseline and resolution should ensure every SteamDeck out in the wild will still be a viable target for developers.Totally agreed.
A year or two before minor revisions like this is about the norm in the handheld space, and folks often worry about it, but they're generally a sign of a system that's doing well enough for particular parts to have been superseded by similar-but-slightly-better drop-in replacements; See, for example, the Nintendo DSi, New Nintendo 3DS, etc., versus the original models - nobody ever really targets the revised models, and they just publicise the revisions for folks who feel that bigger numbers are better. It usually means that the device is here to stay for a while yet.
Quoting: constI understand some people buying a Deck recently feel bad about this, as they would have waited had they known, yet if Valve hadn't improved on the platform, we would all have been of a lot worse.I must be one of the only ones who's glad I already got one, so that I got a display I can actually look at!

This port has real-time ray-traced lighting, though that's weirdly not obvious thanks to only being a bullet point in this article and the screenshot not showcasing it. The chosen screenshot just looks like any other GZDoom screenshot. Meanwhile, on the project site:

Quoting: TimeFreezeBesides the new rendering features whats the point of this Source Port? Vulkan already exists in GZDoom. Surely they could merge those features into GZDoom itself?
