Trouble is brewing over on GOG due to the HITMAN release needing online for some features

I think the review bombing is well deserved. A single player game requiring such online features shouldn't be sold on a place like GOG, it should be removed until a solution is presented.

I didn't participate in the forum discussion but simply voted with my wallet, didn't buy the game. I could forgive GOG for not offering the Linux version, Feral doesn't seem to like GOG.

What's worse is that both Hitman 2 and 3 have these similar features. They'd have to do additional work if they want to release it on GOG too. Goes to show how bad DRM is.

GOG has been straying off from the beaten path for some time already. Cyberpunk's Galaxy requirement to install some skins is also a crappy move and I will never buy it unless they change it.

Quoting: CalinouIf I'm not mistaken, the data files from this release should be usable just fine with the Raze source port.

You're correct on that. I've been playing this game with Raze for a while, I'm at about half way through. Haven't had any issues.

This upcoming indie game is basically My Little Pony meets Pokemon and I want it

I don't like Pokemon
I don't like My Little Pony

But I'll still buy this game on release anyway

Happy Birthday to Linux, 30 years strong

Happy Birthday Linux!

I've switched to Linux full time in 2014, been my only OS at home. It's amazing how far it's come since then.

On Windows I was bored and restricted. Win8 UI is a mess and I didn't want to have anything to do with that.

TUXEDO refresh the Polaris 15 and 17 laptops with new AMD and Intel options

Very nice laptop and that cooling system looks beefy enough to my liking. The AMD CPU option is unfortunately only half the solution, the Nvidia gpu is a huge turn off and not something I'd want to have in a Linux laptop.

Quoting: GuestEven though it's not the GNU/Linux version, and I do have it on Steam and Stadia, Tomb Raider 2013 is tempting me simply because I can back it up easily.

Been playing it in Wine the past 2 hours, no issues here :)

Never had performance issues with it natively, it's more that I'm increasingly wanting backups of installers for games that I might play again. GOG is of course good for that. I am curious however: is there any stuttering in new areas for shader compilation? That can be one drawback of going through wine (+dxvk).

I did have a few stutters in the beginning of the game, can't recall any stutter in beginning of new areas. It's been very smooth overall though.

Can highly recommend Tower of Time, I started playing the game only last week and it got me hooked.

Quoting: GuestNice. Saw it's on sale (-50%) on GOG, so just got it, as well as the precompiled version from their site. The included data-installer extracted all needed files from the GOG package - really well done!
Game starts up fine and plays the intro - but then I realize the HD530 graphics on my laptop obviously isn't enough to run this :(
But nevermind, I've got a 'real machine' at home :D

Your HD530 should handle it quite well. I started playing this game during my lunch break at work and I'm running it on an N2840 CPU with a weaker Intel GPU than yours (1366x768 - Antialiasing off). FPS would occasionally go as high as 42 fps but I limited to 30 for consistency.

I'm happy they finally got around to update the outdated Linux version on GOG, it was an abandoned state for a while. Might finally be the right time to buy X4.
