Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not

What makes the Steam Deck the better choice for me:

To me Valve struck a very good balance between price/performance. They've also put a great attention to detail with component placement and small things such as how heat is dissipated without annoying the user.

Then comes the marvel of it all, an OS tailored for the hardware that doesn't waste resources, 16GB isn't much these when you consider the OS + Game + Shared VRAM. Another great advantage is replacement parts available from iFixit.

The other companies are just rushing their versions out the gate to get a piece of the handhelds cake. While their performance can be better in some cases, it's a mess with everything else.

Wish they'd add this to the first Horizon.

Denuvo and Ubi account. The perfect recipe to stay far far away from this game. Not to mention that the 'base' game costs €50

Thank you Ubisoft, I needed a good laugh.

The Thing: Remastered and Killing Time: Resurrected coming from Nightdive Studios

I still own the original The Thing on CD, to this day I'm still amazed how they fit such a game in just about 250mb.

The game was pretty hard and unforgiving but fun. Never finished it.

It appears that Sony didn't learn anything from the Helldivers drama. Requiring to login for a single player game is plain stupid and should be boycotted to hell.

Liam, maybe worth editing the post to mention that the DLC will not be on GOG

Good thing I didn't buy this game.

Even if it comes with 32GB, the cheaper model is a deal breaker for me with onboard ram.

I really don't mind if people want to play unfinished games ahead of others. What I really don't like (and will never support) is pre-ordering games which come with exclusive content only available before the release, but that's a story for another topic.

GitLab takes down Nintendo Switch emulator suyu due to the DMCA

Good on them to host their own git. An emulator doesn't necessarily mean it's used for piracy.

What if I don't like to strain my eyes looking at a tiny screen to play a game I love (please don't get me started about the HDMI dock), or if I wish to play the game at a higher framerate rather than the 30fps joke.

Personally I have a still functioning PS2 console but will take the emulator over it any day. I keep a small collection of original games and it's nice to play them at a better quality from time to time.
