Bytten Studio say not to sleep on Linux in their postmortem for Lenna's Inception
18 January 2021 at 7:01 pm UTC

Still works for me, and I am really happy that I bought that game as it is and makes me full of joy and fun. And my daughter loves it (especially farting Goldilocks). Maybe that's something with her called Lena todo?

Cool! Am I the only one who is missing a pun about Stockholm Syndrome and CS? Or is it about kaboom only, lately?

Wasteland 3 now available on Linux from inXile Entertainment

Quoting: tuubi
Quoting: loggeEdit: I want to mention that typo: wasn't it wastelands 2 that was released in 2014 and made my days then?
Which typo do you mean? I assume you mean this sentence:
Quoting: Liam DaweActing as a sequel to their 2014 hit, Wasteland 3 is a squad-based RPG
What that means is that Wasteland 3 acts as a sequel to the previous game in the series, which is indeed Wasteland 2, released in 2014. I guess you got confused by the sentence structure?

EDIT: Heh, now my comment doesn't make sense anymore. Thanks Liam. Good edit though.
Thank you all, seems I really misunderstood that one 🤭

NVIDIA slip out a small stable Linux driver update with 455.45.01
4 December 2020 at 7:52 am UTC

I was getting nervous, as I was afraid updating my two Arch boxes will break all possible gaming and cuda capabilities... Just now I've googled "is nvidia cuda working with kernel 5.10 now" and I've landed back here :-D

Will try it out soon.

Watch a rocket go into space right now for Valve's Gabe Newell to donate to charity

Quoting: scaineLoved the achievement pop up at 8:55. I'm surprised that Rocket Lab didn't spring for professional presenters though! They did a good enough job, but it's weird seeing such a cool space launch marred with long silences and little speech errors when clearly reading from a script! Night and day from the SpaceX launches!

Very cool though.
I loved it. Makes it so authentic, nerdy and cool

X4: Foundations gets a 4.0 Beta with the 'biggest free update so far'

Quoting: TheSHEEEPSounds pretty good.
So far, trying to command a fleet was pretty painful due to the need to micro so much. Just handing it off to an admiral sounds like you could have more time actually participating in the battle yourself.
Agreed. What I am still missing is a Wing Commander style com for my pack... They just either head into the bullets, or seem to wait until I am successfully destroyed.

-- edit --
To clarify; I am missing a menu with "Attack my target", "Hold your fire" and "Retreat" without having to click throgh tiny menus. Because when I reach the items, the battle is already decided.

AMD Radeon RX 6800 and the RX 6800 XT are out today

I will get an AMD this time - I was Nvidia since 2xvoodoo 2 sli. I had so bad experience with AMD on company hw and Linux 10-15 years ago that kept me off weird graphics bugs on x11... Now I am stuck in arch Linux unable to update my system for almost (or felt) two months, I really gave "them" enough time to open source their drivers....

Eight years ago today, Steam for Linux went into Beta
6 November 2020 at 7:32 pm UTC

Happy birthday, even you did not accept my beta test wish at first! Keep up and me happy!

Hopefully they saw my increase in steam usage from 3h/week to almost 24*7 on my homebrew arch Linux Steam machine / Kodi media centre...

To add one feature to the list I just realized this evening: you won't get logged off when using two instances of steam across your house.

9 Monkeys of Shaolin is a great classic kung-fu movie inspired beat 'em up out now

The game is so great, and not just because I am a big fan of martial arts - what a meh I've got the Nvidia problems :( Additionally, my GTX670 in my living room seems to have too less memory, and the game just crashes into desktop after each level.
