I will keep an eye on this, but I won't consider buying it until it is actually released for Linux. Not one day sooner.

That is one imaginative trailer to say the least! Better than those trashy trailers for AAA games you see all the time for sure.

QuotePretty much no one wants Linux support, every single time, but you still gonna do it anyway.
Digging that ignorance. Yum!

I can't find that comment. When was that?
Here for the first comment I quoted, and here for the second.

8 people thanking the developers for Linux support at the time of writing, while only 3 thank for Mac OS support, and yet we still have this party pooper of the name Starhowl:
QuotePretty much no one wants Linux support, every single time, but you still gonna do it anyway.
Seems like he is a repeat party pooper as his comment history indicates he posted similar poop in Edge of Eternity's Kickstarter:
QuoteNobody needs a Linux version, because that OS is meant for academics; I would rather prefer you'd invest your resources into the game mechanics and bug corrections.
Digging that ignorance. Yum!

QuoteThere is also some information suggesting that a non-trivial number of people who have come to check out the Underworld Ascendant Kickstarter page move on as soon as they see that we’re only showing Windows support up front.
I wonder what information they are referring to, and if we as a community have access to this information.

Edge Of Eternity J-RPG Tribute Now On Kickstarter, Has A Linux Demo
15 February 2015 at 8:34 pm UTC

It has already reached over a fifth of its goal with 34 days to go, and will be available on all three major operating systems (and has demos for each) as well as two consoles, while having pretty 3D graphics along with a far smaller goal than many indie studios do these days. I am quite baffled. Is it that much cheaper to make a game in France than elsewhere?

Age Of Wonders III Officially Nearing Beta For Linux

Like I said, I've never heard of the series...
And like is common knowledge, Steam games that have Mac OS or Linux clients are explicitly marked as such with icons that are difficult to miss, especially for a seasoned Linux user who has to look out for a Tux icon to make sure it's actually on Linux, hence why I said that this is most curious.

Quoting: CybaCowboyI've never heard of the series, but I looked it up on Steam and actually went to purchase the original two games... Only to discover that they're not available for Linux-based operating systems!

I don't buy the latter games in a series without buying the originals, so hopefully the other two games get ported to Linux-based operating systems at some point...

It'd be a shame if they don't though, because these games look very similar to the "Heroes of Might and Magic" series.
Age of Wonders III is the closest we will get to Heroes of Might & Magic on Linux, bar Heroes of Might & Magic III on Linux by Loki.

Also, how did you manage to miss that the previous games are not on Linux? Most curious. Chances are the previous games will never come to Linux.

I will buy the game once it's out for Linux and it's a good port. Full price purchase, naturally. Great to see that this will happen soon!
