Cannot wait for this! I absolutely will not buy it until it is on Linux, however.

Quoting: Segata SanshiroI did guess Might & Magic: Heroes VI back in the day but that was long before I even knew that Heroes of Might and Magic III is being released once more. Well, Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia anyway. Did not even get a "Close!" or anything from Aspyr, so I doubt it.QuoteOver 1000 guesses across the net, and nobody has come close.
Darth is right, we did this one for love. We hope you like it, but we are cool if you dont
Just a theory, but could it be Heroes of Might and Magic III? Seems like the kind of thing that would be done "for love" and there's a re-master out soon, but Windows-only despite having had Linux and Mac ports in the past.
Wild stab in the dark, but if not one guess in 1000 has been right, it will probably be something a bit obscure like this.

Quoting: DrMcCoyYou can just jump straight into Dragonfall. Apart from a few NPC that cameo in Dragonfall, there's not much overlap between Dead Man's Switch and Dragonfall.Thank you! Judging from the comments people have been making when the subject comes up, and from reviews as well, Shadowrun: Dragonfall appears to be a considerably better game than Shadowrun Returns.

So is Shadowrun Returns necessary or can a curious gamer just buy and jump straight into Shadowrun: Dragonfall?

I am with mirv on this. The snide and downright unprofessional remarks this developer made in public are not immune to criticism or jokes by the Linux community. If said developer does not want his comments ridiculed, I suggest that he utilise a small dose of tact instead of spewing vitriol out of the gate. Perhaps the community's reaction would be more forthcoming if the instigator was not being entirely obnoxious. It's as simple as treating others like you would like to be treated. As the Linux community is already fighting an uphill battle, productive criticism would have been regarded well, but all we received were insolent rants. Not the best way to make a first impression.

This should help so much in determining which settings need to be tweaked in order to get a smooth 60 frames per second. Not sure how people did it before, especially on Linux.
Endless Legend Linux Port Started Months Ago, Looked Good

Quoting: maodzedunDon't hold your breath, guys. Yes, the game will eventually be ported to Linux, but it won't be any time soon. Truth is they have a lot of technical issues under Windows, especially on AMD cards. My 64 bit exe keeps crashing all the time, so I was forced to downgrade to the beta 32 bit in order to play, which as you might imagine means worse performance. And speaking of performance - the game is badly optimised. And I do mean - BAD. I have an MSI 290x and the thing has trouble providing consistent 60fps even on Beautiful (no AA), let alone Fantastic settings. I know its a 4X game so it doesn't really make much of a difference but still it shows bad optimisation. So, I don't think EL will get a Linux version any time soon. Obviously fixing the Windows/MAC is a priority (which is understandable).Ugh. Heroes of Might and Magic III is my favourite game of all time. You saying that just makes me want Endless Legend even more. Still, I will not buy Windows again just to play Endless Legend, and I have enough games to play as is currently. I can wait, especially with Age of Wonders III on the horizon.
PS Don't get me wrong - if you have Windows on your system you should totally get that game, like immediately - it is truly amazing. It is probably one of the best turn based strategies this side of Heroes III. But it still needs some fixing.

Quoting: ImantsThe world of business does not exactly function on logic. Then again, I have no idea if this will even be on Linux. Would a developer really bother bringing a filthy piece of DRM to Linux as well? Would be interesting to know if this abhorrent DRM is also on Mac OS.Quoting: FutureSutureWhy do they need extra DRM for Linux game as old as this. Who will in his right mind try to pirate it if windows version most likely is already pirated :\Quoting: Two Worlds II's Steam PageIncorporates 3rd-party DRM: Reality PumpMost amusing.
