Age of Wonders III, on the other hand, has been confirmed for Linux and should release in the first quarter of 2015 considering the development updates that Triumph has been supplying.

Quoting: SkarjakWow. To go from being so optimistic about the port to being as vague as they were the last time they talked about it, I'm guessing they just figured it wasn't worth the effort.Regardless of what attitude toward bringing a game to Linux is being depicted by a developer, you should absolutely never buy a game before it is on Linux.
They will not be getting a penny from me until this is on linux. It's a shame, I wanted to play this. Civ 5 is native however, so I can already get my 4x fix elsewhere.

Quoting: GuestI'm going to jump right in here early and say that one of the really big motivators behind singling out ROCCAT for me is "their" (ok, the guy isn't part of the company, but they don't get in the way and apparently help out a little) tools under Linux. This is seriously lacking from other manufacturers. It is much more than that when you consider that said drivers are advertised by ROCCAT on its website. That, plus ROCCAT provides Achatz, the developer, with its gaming peripherals free of charge before they even release on the market last I read. ROCCAT is definitely way ahead of other gaming peripheral manufacturers when it comes to supporting Linux.
Thankyou for the review!

I have to wonder why Steam, considering its purpose, is only adding this feature in 2015.

I am a massive fan of Heroes of Might and Magic 3. My favourite game of all time, in fact. Judging from the numerous images and around 30 minutes of gameplay that I have watched, this game just seems to be the battle mode that Heroes of Might and Magic 3 has. No world map to explore, which is a huge part missing considering what type of game this is. Age of Wonders 3 and Endless Legend are much, much closer to what I seek.

Quoting: SkarjakNo sure why the title is "Endless Legend Will Come To Linux". They say that they can't promise "if/when it will be released". Bolded word is a keyword. It should really say "Endless Legend Might Come To Linux... Maybe".Sadly, I agree. Amplitude has provided a slither of hope, yet is doing its best to curb enthusiasm. I sincerely hope it comes to Linux. If not, or at least until it actually happens, Age of Wonders 3 will get a purchase from me at full price, not Endless Legend.
If anything the developper is doing his best to tamper your enthousiasm.
