That is a very disappointing announcement. The game is less than 8 months away!
I'm hesitant of my ability to survive the terror in VR, but if it's the only way to play it, I'll probably at least try. My last two gaming Alien experiences have been superb (Isolation and Dark Descent).

This has led me to check out War Mongrels. The Steam reviews are quite something for that one.

It's a terrible presentation. The guy not being a great speaker doesn't help.
No screws on the outside, because those tiny screw holes look so bad! Said noone ever. So, you have to damage the case to open it? Fsck that.
They talk about cooling well, but they don't talk about fan noise, a crucial element in a handheld.
Large battery and 4 hours battery MAX??? Wow.
A lot of technical details which are largely irrelevant and not addressing any usability key points.
I wish them all the best, but I wonder if they are able to get back their R&D costs. I see Windows appearing on it very soon to try and appease the mass market.

EA anticheat arrives for Battlefield V in April, will break it on Linux / Steam Deck

Anti-cheat will, of course, always be necessary as long as people continue to be c**ts. I'm sure people who play Battlefield V are having a horrible experience of it.
Is creating a good server-side anticheat solution even possible?

LOL.
You want MORE monopoly in the software distribution space? Games on Steam do not get pirated? 130+ million people who bought the Switch are not people? Keep dreaming.

Quoting: ElectricPrismDear Nintendo:
SELL YOUR GAMES ON STEAM. PIRACY IS A SERVICE PROBLEM. STOP CUTTING OFF YOUR NOSE TO SPITE YOURFACEFANS.
PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO BUY YOUR STUPID WALLED GARDEN HARDWARE.
That is all.
LOL.

chiaki4deck PlayStation to Steam Deck streaming app v1.6.4 adds a few useful options

You do realise Chiaki works with PS4 as well?
Personally, I find many games much improved on the Deck's smaller screen. Plus, I can go to another room and not listen to the PS4's hugely loud fan.
Remembering the login pin is a very welcome addition to an otherwise already excellent app.

This has been driving me crazy these past few days. At first I thought my gyro had broken and only worked intermittently when unknown conditions were met. Then I figured out it was a Steam bug. I'll never understand the bizzare default of touching the right stick to enable.

QuoteFix for Gyro enable button not being respected.
